“Falling into comfort - with a view”

A bit hard to find as exterior signage is quite limited. Parking required assistance from staff to open garage and unlock doors to and from lobby. Very casual dining room which was mobbed at breakfast. Dinner service fairly slow initially but became attentive after food was served. Good variety of food. Overall, a very comfortable, relaxing place to stay without the hustle and bustle of big city hotels. We had a nice view of commercial port operations and lots of fresh air through the windows.

Windows couldn't be opened (I asked), no air con or other mechanism to bring in fresh air, only a feeble fan to move the stale air around. Luckily it wasn't hot or it would have been unbearable. Also concerned about a floor lamp that wouldn't turn off from the switch and had to be unplugged from the wall jack--made me concerned about the electrical system. In general, this hotel seems to have changed its orientation toward a low budget, longer-stay operation. This is a shame as it has a good location for events at Ahoy stadium. It needs to update some fundamental structural elements before I will consider going back.

The furnishing in this hotel is a mixture between Ikea, Habitat and a car boot sale, everything seems to be thrown together but it works. The rooms are large with your own little kitchen (kettle, coffee maker, fridge, microwave and sink) a proper couch and a massive bed and of course en suite bathroom. The rooms are double glazed so well sound proofed. The rooms was kept clean. The food was good but the service in the restaurant was to say the least different, sometimes you got served other times you had to go and find somebody. I also had an occasion where I was charged for something I had not had, so watch that. If you are on a budget there are supermarkets withing easy walking distance. The metro is right across from the hotel so you are also in easy reach of the centre and only 40 minutes from the Hague.

Room Tip: The higher floor the better for good views

To start of with we were welcomed by friendly staff and a welcome drink. The room was huge with kitchenette and bathroom. The furniture in out room looked very outdated but we didn't care as the vieuw on the 14th floor blew us away. The hotel is only a few tube stops away from the city center (shopping) and the Ahoy. Diner and breakfast were good although service was not super and they seemed to be understaffed.

I chose the hotel due to it's location, as I needed to stay in the area and I needed secure parking but would not stay again. Its very close to Maashaven station and the railway line, and is therefore noisy. Busy roads all round don't help. The area did not inspire me to stay any longer than I needed to, and nor did the hotel. The reception/ restaurant area is dull and dingy and not inviting. The whole ''Art'' thing confused me, looks as if designed by school children, and even some of the room numbers are untillegible due to the ''art'' theme- very amateur. Lifts not working properly, when the hotel was very busy with several coach loads of people who arrived at the same time. Unbelievable delays to get to the upper floors. The staff were friendly and efficient, the room was a good size, and seemed reasonably clean.

we stayed here for NSJ 2013 and had a good time. Nice room, good beds. The carpet was clean and the room too. Only the bathroom was smelly.
The breakfast was really good with nice coffee and lots of fresh food. Staff was really friendly.

Room Tip: Top floors are nicer, a room with a view.
