I’m lucky because I visited the Mauritshuis the last day before the museum closed to visitors. The museum will be closed from today (2 April 2012) until mid-2014.It’s a small museum with impresive collection.
The main collection consists of paintings from the Dutch golden age.Including works of Rembrandt, Vermeer, Van der Weyden, Hans Memling, Rubens, Van Dyck. They have 3 paintings of Vermeer :
View of Delft (1660-1661)
Girl with a Pearl Earring(1665-1667)
and Diana and her coompanions(1653-1656).
Some 100 of the museum's most important works of art will go on show at the city's Gemeentemuseum from Saturday 28 April 2012,so if you want to visit this beautiful
collection you have to go there...
