“Small, noisy but good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 February 2014

Friendly welcome, good food (as long as you like whats on the daily, limited menu) and wine pairings (unusual wine options were appreciated by my wine buff colleague). The place was full (big table, medium table and small table) on a Wed evening and the noise level v high - so not a venue for business as we couldnt hear each other very well! Good place for a group of friends...

“Great wine”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 January 2014

I really enjoyed myself at this restaurant. A very simple, small setup with only 2 staff (1 waiter and wine expert, and a chef). The starters were amazing, we had a meat platter & grilled vegetables with the most delicious mozzarella cheese.

The main dishes on offer were very limited, we only had a choice of three - 2 meats and 1 fish. The 2 meat dishes were very similar, being a raw steak tartare or a slightly cooked steak tartare; which we really didn't enjoy. But the wine, starters and dessert made up for it.

The waiter is lovely, but the chef is grumpy - and just slammed my dessert in front of me saying "chocolate". Will visit again once the main dishes have changed.

“Excellent Meat & Wine”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 January 2014

Small very nice decorated restaurant. Small straight forward menu and let the owner decide about the wine from start to finish will give you a nice evening and excellent meal. Full on a Tuesday!

“I wish I could keep it a secret”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 December 2013

My husband and I have travelled to Antwerp regularly for ten years and have eaten in many average restaurants in the city centre. We found this restaurant on Tripadvisor and i can honestly say, we now will not be eating anywhere else. Bart's welcome was warmhearted and sincere, taking time to explain the courses on offer and tempting us with an amazing array of wines suited to our individual tastes. The atmosphere was intimate and relaxed and the food simple, unfussy but bursting with flavour. A truly personal experience I can't wait to repeat.

“Excellent in many ways ...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 November 2013

An absolute highlight if you enjoy genuine and exciting food & wines. The restaurant kept its authenticity with regard to decor and the service, food and wine choice is simply amazing. We took the mixed vegetables with mozzarella stracciatella, the 'couteaux de mer', as a main course the tartar (maybe a hint too much basil for my taste) and the Rib Eye. All dishes were of excellent produce and very tasty! The Riesling bubbles as an aperitif, the white wine 'the flower & the bee' (never heard of the grape 'Treixadura' before) were amazing and a great recommendation. The crème brulee is exactly how a crème brulee should be! Worth going out of the center and out of so many 'mainstream' Belgian restaurants! This is for sure a culinary experience! Well done, mannen!
