I was expecting much more from a four star Mercure hotel. The worst was probably the service, but also the rooms were definitely not 4 star, the breakfast is overpriced with little choices and the hotel doesn't offer any parking (only choice is this really expensive public garage next to the hotel). Overall very poor price performance and not to be recommended!

Part of a large group. Rooms clean but furniture dated as was the bathroom. Aircon needs an overhaul.Staff friendly and helpful. Easy walk to the old town and it's great restaurants bars and shops. Best opinion adequate. Did not have breakfast here as options at local cafes provided better value

Calling itself a FOUR STAR hotel is a bit of a stretch. Firstly, the amenities are sub-par. Parking is full price at whatever public garage is available, the bar is fine, breakfast, albeit €18, is of low quality and the facilities are in a shamble.

I understand that 30 degrees Celcius is not common in Belgium, but an "air conditioner" that belches warm air for 20 minute spurts is ridiculous. Further, when we left for the day, the cleaners pulled the card from the wall unit thus turning off any circulation we might have had. The room was like a sauna when we returned! Please, Mercure, don't offer a climatized room unless you really mean it!

Then there are the lifts. I prefer to take the stairs which are faster and don't leave me with the sense that I might plummet to my death with each ride. Also, the wifi is slow, and you must reconnect each time after leaving the hotel!?!

Finally I will comment on the furnishings. The linens are excellent, but the decor is weird and the left-over furniture from whomever they purchased this old edifice is in a state of disrepair.

At the price we paid (as Accor Le Club members), I cannot recommend this place. The service is less than adequate, the place is a wreck and the 4 star Mercure brand has just suffered a severe blow in my estimation.

The room was large and comfortable, well furnished.. the location is close the main train station (Antwerp centraal)..
However.. there was no good view from the room.. I didn't like the sliding door of the bathroom that lacks any sort of lock..

Not the best Mercure. I arrived after 8pm on a week day and I felt unsafe the whole walk from Antwerpen Centraal station, as I was constantly bothered by men and had to walk passed 3 strip bars. The hotel needs updating and the rooms need a makeover. Staff was lovely and helpful though.
