We really enjoyed our stay at Theater Hotel in Antwerpen.
Why? The location is ideal, 10 to 15 minute pleasant walk (depending on your walking lust and condition) to the Cathedral and main market, even less to the fashion quarter, Rubens House (3-5 mins) and mainstream shopping boulevard Meir (5-7 mins)
There was the Arenberg/Theater parking with entrance directly to the hotel and 20% off for the parking (which makes 12€ a day).
We had a great rate from the Internet (weekday) for a room on the sixth floor with a pleasant king-size bed, windows that could be opened that offered a nice view over the roofs and towers of this vibrant city. There was also air-conditioning which we didn't use that day.
The service at the reception was down-to-earth, juvenile and had some nice suggestions ready for us and our style (end-20s mid-range/alternative-minded): we didn't feel like second-class travellers or treated arrogantly at all!
The room was clean, had a wooden floor (no carpet as mentioned before: nice). The bathroom was a little, slightly run-down, but really nothing bad: everything worked out fine.
Only downpoint: things could have been slightly cleaner - but really once again: only a minor downside, nothing terrible.
And: I have hardly slept so well in a hotel room ever.
Given our rate, I really have absolutely no complaints at all and would suggest this place rightaway.More
