This hotel is a convenient base for Antwerp. We found it easily, and the parking adjoining the hotel is handy- unless you are checking out on a Sunday, when you can't leave until Parking d'Arenburg re-opens at about 15:30. Other, cheaper parking is available quite close by.
The rooms are large and, on first sight, stylish. This made a good impression. The bathrooms are tired, unfortunately. The mixer on our shower was temperamental, and the baths are narrow, so you cannot avoid the shower curtain sticking to you as you shower.
You are given one plastic room entry card per room, which is annoying if you want to engage in separate activities now and again (for example lingering in the Oude Arsenaal bar around the corner). You need your room key to operate the lift, which might be good for security, but which is also a pain.
Breakfasts were nice, the scrambled eggs in particular.
We paid about €140 per night. I thought that a bit steep. But it was clean and convenient, so we'd probably use the hotel again. Antwerp was lovely this Christmas time. The city improves year on year, and is easy to visit either by rail or in the car.More
