Description: The STORM museum cafe is the new 'place to be' in the Eilandje district. Comfortable leather benches invite visitors to reflect on their visit of MAS. But you can also head there with colleagues after a hectic working day or enjoy a moment of peace and quiet before or after a day's shopping on the terrace. Architect Kurt Hereygers used a mix of 'rich' and 'poor' materials for the cafe's interior: leather, oak, mirrors, multiplex and concrete, finished in warm hues. The eye-catching feature is the huge wall cabinet. The menu features small, healthy and seasonal fast food dishes in addition to Illy coffee, Oxfam Fair Trade juices and beers, alcoholic beverages and wine.

Located in the gorgeous MAS museum, this museum cafe offers average food, served by somewhat chaotic waiters. Hopefully, the area surrounding MAS will be transformed in the near future into a vibrant district, so Cafe Storm will face some competition.

There is nothing wrong with the menu - reasonable food & drinks but the service is staggeringly bad. Slow, surly waiting staff and dirty tables. I won't be back.

Enjoyed a late brunch here earlier this year. The restaurant was busy but we were able to get a table pretty easily - friendly and attentive staff and great range of food and drinks available. Very good quality food and a pleasant atmosphere to enjoy brunch. The "tour" to the top of the building was a pretty good way to finish off our visit - great views.

Cafe Storm is the casual dining option at the MAS museum (if you want to go formal and eat at 't Zilte, it is advisable to get a reservation).

The outside section of the cafe is blistered by the sun, with no umbrellas or covering of any kind. Over time perhaps they will realize the shortcomings of this choice, but when we were there last September, outside was just not an option.

So of course we had to wait a bit for a table inside - thankfully, not too long.

The food was average. I had a nice turkey sandwich - if I had thought, I could've picked a sandwich up in the Groenplaats where we were staying that would've cost less I bet...

Then it came time to pay the bill and they said they did not take credit cards. A museum cafe that doesn't take plastic? It was our last day in Belgium, and we had purposely been spending our cash down so that we wouldn't be stuck with too many Euros when we got back to the U.S. So of course we didn't have enough $ between us, and there was no ATM in the museum complex. So my wife volunteered to walk to the nearest ATM and back, again through the blistering sun, to get cash to pay our bill. Very poor planning!

My advice would be to get a reservation for 't Zilte if you want to eat the the MAS. Otherwise, bring some food with you, and have a picnic lunch in the shady side of the building.

A good place to have a fast, healthy meal after visiting the MAS. The menu exists of well dressed cold plates with paganini's, sandwiches and other bread-oriented food. Very exclusive! Always with a lot of vegetables. Prices are according to quality. Not cheap indeed, but for 10€ you have had a small lunch. They serve all the drinks people can think off, with nice wines and special coffees.
The interior is new, like the MAS, very open and high. Special lighting on the ceiling.
The service is distinguished and fast.
