This small house museum is simply not to be missed. The artwork is astounding and so beautifully displayed in its setting. Also, the museum guards are chatty and informative. Go!

This less well known house in Antwerp belonging to Ruben's friend is a gem, so allow time to fully appreciate what it has to offer. Currently the Museum also houses some of the paintings from the Fine Art Museum which is closed for renovation until 2017. (The Mas has most the the Fine Art Collection). Don't miss the Orsini Polyptych with its lavish background of gold, part of a portable altar. Also the City Tax Collector, the exquisite Panoramic View of Antwerp and its Port, and the equally beautiful still life of Three Wine glasses in a Niche. There are splendid cabinets and a brilliant blue butterfly. As the floor boards creak under your feet remember that this was once a splendid house, lived in and vibrant with the culture of Antwerp in its great days. Lockers are available to keep coats and bags. Entry fee extremely modest for this lovely treasure which seems off the timetable for hordes of tourists.

For me this was the best museum in Antwerpen (given that the fine arts museum is closed).
The paints are great and the house itself is very interesting. The museum is quite small but there are a lot to see. The guide you get with your ticket is very helpful with a lot of explanations about the pieces.

The security is not that bad as many described. You just need to stay at a safe distance to avoid triggering the alarm (there is a line on the floor therefore it is clearly visible after you step on it for the first time).

This is the best musuem in Antwerp. As part of the ticket you get a very good guidebook which shows each painting with some snippets of information, so you can wander around and actually understand what you are looking at.

The musuem is bright and colorful, Go there
