“Learn About the Diamond Trade”
Reviewed 23 August 2010

This museum isn't really somewhere you would go if you just wanted to look at diamonds, you can do that pretty much anywhere in the shop fronts in the antwerp Diamond districts. If, however, you are interested in finding out about how the diamond trade works and how it was that Antwerp came to be such an important place for the diamond industry I can easily recommend this museum. This museum is not however for children and I don't think many of them would enjoy it. Some of the pieces in the museum are really quite beautiful though some of the displays were down. I can quite easily say that after going both myself and my fiancee learnt a great deal more about the diamond trade and diamond production in general.

“Great exhibition - but where do you start with the audio machine?”
Reviewed 16 August 2010

The story of diamonds from mining to the finished product. Lots of exhibits & the commentaries on the hand-held audio system were good - but the signing of the audio numbers at the exhibits was very, very poor. No rucksacks or cameras allowed - makes sense! One of the few museums in Antwerp that's open on Mndays.

“informing and buyingfor diamonds”
Reviewed 7 November 2009

i am really glad we visited Antwerp and this great museum !!
it gave us uncolored information about diamonds and a lot of information diamonds story's and facts etc.... before we went on our search for buying diamonds
we end up at orsini's , great value and no pushing , the took almost a whole afternoon to explain us where we had to look for , and this is rare because we visited many !! the guy who helped us , paul ,was a real gentleman , with endless patience he sold us a beautiful diamond and as a cherry on the cake we could watch our diamond to be set in the workshop , this was a real experience!!
i have to say , we did doubt at first , because orsini was not the cheapest , paul really give us the best price , but at one moment he said he could not go lower
and that we had to be careful , if we found lower , we probably would not get what we paid for (or think we pay for ) we agreed , because the only price with was lower , was indeed a rather suspicious shop
so finally , we saved over 2000euro , not bad and had a great weekend !!
to be recommend !!

“Worth the Time and Money...Very Interesting”
Reviewed 20 June 2009

The diamond museum in Antwerp is located on the square with the main train station. We were travelling by car, and found plenty of nearby parking as well, then used the streetcar to travel further in town.
The diamond museum has a very interesting display, including actual diamonds and jewelry, but even more interesting is the history of diamond mining and trading. On the day we were there, two gentlemen were actually cleaving diamonds as part of the exhibit on how diamonds are processed from rough stones to jewelry. The were obviously experts volunteering time to the museum, which rather speaks for itself as advertisement.
