Stunning African themed B&B situated just off Marnixplats. Just two rooms and ours was beautifully decorated with lots of quirky touches and a huge bathroom. Bed was very comfortable and we got a great nights sleep. The hosts were friendly welcoming and really helpful with good tips about Antwerp. Breakfast prepared and served in the hosts kitchen and was delicious.

The B&B is in a quiet residential street in a great part of Antwerp. Two minutes walk from the bars and restaurants of Marnixplats and Leopold de Waelplats. There was street parking at only €3.50 per day.

Just remember the hosts don't take cards.

Will definitely return

The Witte Nijl is in the fashionable South of Antwerp, a few steps away from the Marnix square and the Museum of modern art, both places with many fashionable restaurants and bars. A 20 minutes walk will bring you to the medieval centre of Antwerp with the famous gothic cathedral, medieval castle, the river and the so medieval centre with many small streets. Public transport is always close and will bring you to any place in Antwerp.
The B&B is full decorated in colonial style, including the keys have a touch of it. The rooms are big, clean and well decorated. All decoration is African style, ex-Congo style, like you can remark on the photos. Our suite had a bathroom with bath and shower separate. All so nice.
Breakfast is served downstairs, interior or in the garden dependent of the weather. The breakfast is very complete and delicious. The garden is quite tropical/South, which I rather special for Belgium !?
The hosts are super, helpful, always there to help you and the chat during breakfast ( only when you are interested ) is a good way to start the day, that and the breakfast.

A most beautiful B & B with 5 * Hosts!
We stayed at De Witte Nijl for 9 nights in August this year. It was obvious this accommodation was well loved and cared for, with an amazing African theme though out the house. A spotless room that was very spacious with a lovely large bathroom with bath and separate shower. The bed was so comfortable, it was great to sleep soundly for 9 nights!
Wonderful healthy, plentiful breakfasts! We ate in the lovely garden on the sunny days.
The hosts! What lovely, lovely people they were, friendly, helpful and so easy to talk to and knew if you wanted to be left in peace, not that we did as they had great stories to tell. It was very sad to leave. We will return.

My girlfriend and I stayed here and where blown away by how nice the place was. It was stunning, way beyond expectations and really made our stay. More than anything though our two hosts were fantastic, funny and fascinating. Amazing collections and interests, engrossing chats and helpful advice often over a gorgeous breakfast and a cup of coffee. Oh and its a short walk/bus/tube to pretty much anything you'd be interested in and there are a lovely set of bars and restaurants (particularly the seafood place) at the end of the street.

Enough said.

Room Tip: They were all pretty special and the street is quiet yet central.

From the moment you step inside this African-style oasis in the beautiful city of Antwerp, you will realize you have made the right choice for your European getaway. Your hosts will be friendly, warm, and knowledgeable. Your room will be spacious, extremely clean, and comfortable. Your bathroom will seem fit for royalty. And your breakfast each morning will start your day as it should. Situated on a quiet street, but only walking distance from numerous bars, cafes, and restaurants, you won't mind keeping your windows open to enjoy the fresh air. Certainly A+ accommodations!

This B&B is unique! The African concept gives an extremely special atmosphere! The rooms are very clean and the breakfast is just delicious. The hosts are very friendly and they make it feel like coming home! They are very helpful, they know a lot of nice places and have a good sense of humor. 'De witte Nijl' is situated in the heart of Antwerp. You'll find lots of bars and restaurants in the neighborhood.
In short: "Everything is just perfect"!
