This is a tunnel under the Schelde, so it is a bit of a walk, but it's a marvel of white tiles and '30 years architecture. The elevators are still original ! Enjoy the left bank and the view of the city. You can always return with the tram just next to the entrance on the left bank.

Always nice to take a walk trough this tunnel when strolling down Hoogstraat and Kloosterstraat on a Sunday.
This pedestrian tunnel has 80 years old wooden escalators and takes you to the left bank of the river Scheldt where you can enjoy the view over Antwerp and have a Belgian fried Snack.
Otherwise not much to see there, it's just a nice walk, a nice view and a snack. :)

Always love walking tunnels under rivers and this old gem well worth the little diversion. TIP catch the tram one stop to the other side of the river from the City and as you come out head to the river and the isolated building which is the entrance. Just enjoy the olde world escalators and tiling as you stroll under the river back to the City. Also forget all about interactive gimmicks and the like and just smile as kids take in the joy of yelling and shouting and making echos in the tunnel, simple simple lovely fun. Made me smile. Then up the other side to enjoy the rest of the City.

Used the tunnel for our bike trip exodus from city centre. Great engineering that provided a vivid memory.

We revisited this tunnel again for our grown children to experience as they were toddlers on our first visit. It was an enjoyable trip with ones family to the left bank. The skylight view was amazing. We also got to play at the near by park. It was interesting.
