“A gem”

Beautiful hotel. 2 old buildings superbly renovated put together. Warm scandinavian design inside. We got the room number 2 situated on the first floor. A very nice room with a high ceiling and large windows opening on to the patio. Plus there were an Ipod/Iphone dock station, great personal care products from the brand Ren as long as bathrobes and slippers. Bed was terrific, as long as the shower. In addition they have everything a young couple wishes for : a not-that-expensive spa, a rooftop terrace with an amazing view over the city and a cool lounge bar with affordable drinks. Also the young and professional staff was super helpful and nice all along.

Treat yourself and break the bank if you happen to stay in Antwerp for a few days.

I enjoyed this small hotel. The lounge area was nice, staff was great (24hours), location was within walking distance to bars and restaurants. The Julien Dreamer Room was very pretty, modern bathroom and amenities. The elevator is small but we were able to fit two of us with a couple of small pieces of luggage without any issue. My only issue was the noise from the stairs and elevator. The elevator lets off right in front of our room (Dreamer Room), and those beautiful wood stairs are really loud. I wasn't able to enjoy all the hotel had to offer for the two nights (bar, restaurant, and lounge) but it was still a nice stay.

Having stayed at this hotel a few years ago I recalled how beatifully relaxing it was and therefore, although a local, I decided to surprise my wife with a night at this hotel after having been out for dinner nearby.

And all our good memories were confirmed. The staff is still as friendly and helpful as possible. One member of staff even remembered us (we only stayed one night last time).

We arrived late but to have a drink at the bar was no problem.

Our room was large, clean, well furnished and quiet (despite the tram running in the street in front of the hotel)

Breakfast was a treat with all you can think of .

Unfortunately we did not have time to use the spa but we will return (any reason will be a good reason to come back)

My wife and I spent two very nice nights at this hotel.
The rooms were spacious and warm, which was a plus as the weather had turned cold.
The staff were attentive, very friendly and courteous.
We were greeted with a welcome drink and the rest of our stay enhanced the experience.
The location of the hotel is perfect for access to the town, we walked to most places.
Reception helped find two wonderful restaurants.
Only two minor issues, the lift is small and very slow and the road outside the hotel is dangerous when accessing due to the tram line that ran just outside the door.

This is a nice boutique hotel at a very good location, perfect for a weekend in Antwerp. The rooms were nice but a little bit pricey.

The downside was the following: We needed two rooms, they only had one regular room and one 'experience' room available. The difference in price was 70 euros, while the rooms differed in size (and the 'experience' had a bigger bathroom), there was also a massage session included, but because we were staying for a very short period we didn't get the massage session because you had to make an appointment in advance. They didn't tell us this when we booked, I wish they would have done so, we payed for something we didn't receive, we asked if we could get anything else instead, and they simply told us: no.

My other complaint is that one of the other persons travelling with us (65+) who had a problem with her knees, had to climb two flights of stairs to get to her room, after we asked, they told us there was an elevator, but in that part of the building it would only go up one floor, for the next floor you had to use the stairs. We tried to change the room, but they said that they just handed over the key to the other guests of the only remaining room, so it was not possible to change rooms.

Oh and I have to add: there was nothing for children.

Other than that I have to say, the location is perfect, we noticed there is a bus stop right in front of the hotel. 'Groenplaats' and The Cathedral are about 3 minutes walking distance.

(ps. Don't forget to check out the deck on the roof with has a nice view of the Cathedral!)

And if you go to Antwerp by car, you can park in the 'Meir' parking garage for 16 euros/day (that's in case you don't find any free public parking spaces on the street).
Tip: public parking is free on sundays,

Room Tip: The experience room (# 23) is nicer, more accessible and with a very nice bathroom!

A wonderful old building that has been lovingly renovated to creare a superb atmosphere and very comfortable experience. My room was on the 2nd floor facing the street but well sound-proofed (although the first tram of the day did wake me up!) and extremely well appointed. The stairs to get to it might be daunting to someone not 100% mobile though. Reception was very helpful and friendly and the breakfast service was good. The hotel is just a short walk from the cathedral, Grande Place and the sights of old Antwerp. If staying in Antwerp I would definitely reccomend Hotel julien.

Room Tip: A room at the back would avoid the noise of the trams pasing by in front.

Funky, classy hotel right near the main squares in Antwerp. Make sure to go up and check out their cute little deck on the roof. Nice view of the cathedral. Nice, small, quiet rooms, and friendly staff.
