The hotel is at a great location and the building is wonderful. The communication about when to check in is very good, through e-mail. Whatever criticism I may have, we had a good weekend. But...
- the toilet was not clean upon arrival
- the curtains are too small for the window
- everywhere in the building are loose doorknobs because the floor is not straight, the doors get stuck on the floor and people pull too hard on the doorknobs
- although I booked a late check out, twice somebody knocked on our door to ask why we hadn't left yet,
-Time to buy some new mattrasses
And yet...it is nice there :-)

Room Tip: ask for a room with seperate beds

Dear guest,

Thank you for your review of your stay at Condo Gardens Antwerp! We are very pleased that you enjoyed your stay. We got the remark of the curtains from more guests, so we are looking to replace those. About the doorknobs, this is indeed a problem of the inequality of the floor, we are also looking at that problem.

We hope to welcome you again in the near future!

Kind regards,

Be-Housing Group

It is not a hotel but apartments where you stayed in. The difference is that there is only between 16.00 and 20.00 o clock someone at the reception, just something you have to know before you go there. Checking in was really easy and the guy was friendly, explained how it worked. There's a gate that you can enter anytime you want to get to the room. Our room, nr 112, was really nice. The shower was ok, just good enough. The bed was fine with clean sheets. There where all kind of things to use like a stereo, you could iron your clothing, a microwave and the kitchen. Checking out is just dropping the key into a box and that's it.

The apartment is in a Spanish neighbourhood so a lot of Spanish, Portuguese and Mexican restaurants around, there are no nice bars in that neighbourhood but it's 15minutes walk to the city centre where there is a lot of nightlife.

We booked this for one night after going to a party at the sport palace..

When we arrived we had to enter the code of the gate and take our key out of the mailbox. We read a lot of negative things but i was pleasantly suprised when i entered the room. Really large room for 4 persons. Bathroom very small and not that much pressure on the water but it was warm witch is the most important ;)

We slept very well for the few hours we spent in bed. room was clean, we had enough towels (small ones), ...

I would defenitly book this again for a one night sleepover after partying in antwerp city.
Tip: checkout must be before 10 witch is early. For a few euros more you can check out at 1!

Room Tip: we had rooms on first floor. 104 and 105

Throughout the whole building there was a strong smell of smoke. It was even in the towels and in the sheets, despite the non smoking sign in the hallway. We had booked a 4 person appartment. Our first room had a really bad smell in it (smoke) and we couldn't open a window. There were no towels, there was dust and (half) empty plastic soda bottles everywhere. The room clearly had not been cleaned. When asking for another room at the reception, the lady told us to wait 30 mins and she would arrange something. She then told us that she only had a 3 person appartment available. After some doubt we decided to take this, since our friends were also staying in the hotel and we didn't want to end up in another hotel as they were. We would try to figure something out with the beds. That didn't work out, so one of us had to spend the night on the leather couch and didn't sleep at all. In the morning we went back to the reception to tell the lady that we had paid for a 4 person appartment and now someone ended up on the couch in a 3 person appartment. She refused to help us, since we, according to her, agreed with the new room so we didn't have the right to complain. She said we could contact the sales dept. about this. But she threatened us that she would contact them as well saying that we agreed on the other room.

So we did contact them, but what we got back were rude replies and they even forwarded the e-mail of the receptionist accidentally, saying that we only tried to get our money back in a really cheap way. See attachment. Sales did not apologize for anything and all they offered us was a 25 euro voucher for a next stay. After reading the email of the receptionist and not getting any apology from the sales department, we ofcourse did not want to stay ONE more night in this horrible so called hotel, so we told them we did not agree with this. Until now, no reply....

Really, how can this hotel exist...

Condo Gardens is not a hotel but a number of appartements in a converted warehouse. There is no proper reception and no restaurant, breakfastroom or bar. Flats are relatively spacious and equipped with kitchen, including fridge and microwave oven. The style and quality is somewhat of your first students apartement, simple and often rather wornout furniture. The main problem of this building are the very thin walls which are not soundproof at all. Be prepared to hear your neighbours television and their phonecalls.
Bathrooms are tiny and the lightswitch is hidden in the cabinet above the sink, but soap and towels and a hairdryer are provided.
Condo Gardens is obviously not the first choice for some travellers, but if you are looking to stay near the Eilandje area there are not many alternatives either. If you want to stay in this part of town and cook your own food, this is a good choice if you can bear with some noise. Prices are moderate and there are larger flats for groups as well. On the other hand if you like backpacking and are used to hostels this place is sheer luxury. Clientele is a very broad mix of budget travellers, some seamen, familys, partypeople and longterm visitors. Wifi is free, but relativly slow and some guests complain about a weak signal, but i never had any problems, you just have to leave the sign-in screen open while browsing.
Be aware that you need a mobile phone to call the staff which is usually not on the premises and that if you arrive outside office hours you have to obtain a keycode by email in advance. Outside office hours there is no staff and no check-in machine either, so if you turn up late at night and dont have your instructions printed out, you wont get in.

Room Tip: Flats on the 4th and 5th floor have steep ladders to the bathroom on a mezzanine level and there is...

I was booked here since there was a shortage of rooms. Once I had the booking I was informed that there is no "reception:" check in is only from 16.00 - 20.00 hrs. The place is an old building (warehouse) in a bad area of the city. No restaurants and not very safe to walk about at night. The room was pathetic. It was a split level, no airconditioning, no light in the bathroom till the next day I saw a tiny switch inside the plastic cabinet over the sink. The shower head was jammed so I unscrewed the head and held the pipe overhead to get a shower. Two skylights let in light but no way to screen them at night to sleep and the sun sets late in May.
Had to climb a rickety stair to get to the sleeping area upstairs. Overall a evry poor excuse for a :hotel" or whatever, I think Antwerp City should close this place down. OK it had the ususal frig, microwave etc. I paid for breakfast packages for 2 nights and did not get breakfast on day 2. I just left. Not worth even thinking about it again.

This was literally a joke, there was no one at the check in when we arrived and wasn't supposed anyone back until Monday, it was SATURDAY!!! Finally got into our room, there was a dirty rag for a comforter on the bed, no sheets whatsoever!! Creepy men everywhere, not a fit place for any woman by herself. Bad neighbourhood, very dodgy, felt nervous in the area. Stayed in the room about 20 minutes and left, did not spend the night!!!!
