“Perfect little jewel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 October 2013

I loved the small, cosy feel of this restaurant, but it also had a chic ambiance - which I feel is the perfect mix of atmosphere. We were 4 for dinner and the service was very good -- and the food was exquisite! Beautifully presented and delicious! We benefited from using the Restopass, whereby we got a discount of 30%. I can highly recommend this restaurant!!

“Don't have too much expectations on the food.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 September 2013

Just had dinner @this restaurant. Had mixed reviews reading the reviews but still decided to give it a try. We were contemplating between the euro 45 menu or the a la carte and decided we wanted to try the different dishes offered so we ordered a la Carte instead. The complimentary black truffle mousse and waffle was divine, as we were pleasantly surprised, we expected more. Appetizer: I ordered the langoustine rivioli with miso and that tasted quite weird as the rivioli tasted like the Chinese wonton but with a rather salty miso soup base for euro 22!? My husband ordered the scallop carpaccio with black truffles which was nothing to rave about. Main: I ordered the the beef tenderloin which was cooked well with a nice tasting black truffle fois gras rivioli on the side which over empowers the tenderloin. The oven roasted cod fish with risotto was delicious but wasn't exceptional. We didn't find the dessert menu very exciting with penne cotta and creme brûlée!? So we opted out. Although there was only one waiter for the whole restaurant, we received very prompt and attentive service where there were at least another 12 customers in the restaurant on a Tuesday evening. Except our evening ended in a rather annoying manner where there was a fault with their credit card machine and none of pur credit cards were accepted and none of the close by ATMs worked to give us cash. It took us over 30 minutes running around trying to figure what to do and at the end, their credit card machine finally worked and accepted our payment!

“Good Food, but not Cheap”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 August 2013

The restaurant, located off the Place du Grand Sablon, is mainly worth while if you happen to get special offers - we had a three course dinner menu for €29, which was really good value.

“Splendid discovery meal”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 June 2013

La tortue du sablon never disappoints: from start to finish it is a ballade of inspiration from texture to savor, the chef transports you in another dimension of culinary experience. Each time I am going it is a new experience. Definitely will be back!

“good but slow”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2013 via mobile

Pros: nice place in a nice area. The food is above average, with a touch of creativity.

Cons: the service is slow and the wine card is poor
