Description: The chief prepares his dishes with Belgium beers. You want to try a speciality? What do you think of duck with sweet cherries or Mussels with beer from Grimbergen? If your mouth is already watering we advise you to try the rabbit with the Geuze beer sauce. In the restaurant we serve also typical French dishes as snails form Burgundy, Fish from the North Sea, Chicken with archiduc sauce, veal with mustard sauce. In the summer you can have a seat on the terrace to taste a beer. In the summer there are also a lot of live concerts on the Grand Place of Brussels. We are waiting for you.

I ordered the chicken potato stew. I was hoping the food would be decent considering it was next to the square and priced above average. I cook once a month and I cook a more flavorful stew. It was very bland with zero flavor. I put more flavor in with the salt and pepper shaker. My friend ordered a pasta that had cheese and ham I believe. Nothing special with it. Would not recommend if this is the food the serve. Bread was good though

Dear Madam,
I am sorry to read that our dishes did not suit you.
As a restaurant renowned for its local dishes such as Vol-au-Vent (Chicken) and Flemish Carbonnades flamande (beef stew), we can not adapt our recipes to everyone's taste. We fully understand that the dishes had no taste according to you but we are obliged to respect the original recipes to satisfy the maximum of people. However you had the possibility to season your dishes according to your taste
We will send your comment to the chef.
Have a nice day
Ilhame

We were warned away from the Grand Palace restaurants, but late on our last night, my son wanted frites and I wanted a glass of red wine (after happily drinking beer for a week). We sat down at the patio at the Cave de Roy and were treated so badly – even though patio was empty, we were told we needed to order at least a 20 euro meal to get a glass of wine... so we left. Naturally. But, never one to give up when wine is at stake, we sat down at La Rose Blanche and were given the royal treatment. The most friendly waiters that we encountered the entire time we were in Belgium! When it got a little chilly we moved inside by the fire and were blown away by how cozy and authentic it was inside. Beams and charm galore. Wish we had tried it earlier. It made our last night in Brussels very warm and memorable.

The best thing about the food was actually the beer sampler we ordered. All the rest was just ok. The wired experience - we are sitting in a half full restaurant. The waiters are talking among themselves really not a busy night. Our order is taken we get our drinks and we wait. It's 2130-2200 and we start to figure out how come our food is not coming. 45 minutes later we asking about it. The answer we got - sorry the waitress forgot to call in the order. We where ready to just pay for the drinks and leave but they promised us it will take 10 minutes. So we ordered again, received the food (which again was just ok). They took off a bottle of mineral water off the bill and overall did not seem worried it happened to them. There is a different way to handle these events. Especially with taking some ownership of the issue.

Although the central square of Brussels is beautiful with grand buildings and all around it is a bit of a “tourist trap”. Sonthe expectations for a restaurant were not to high.
The decor didn’t disappoint: appropriately old en in keeping with the surroundings. The menu did not offer any surprises: what one would expect on a place like this. But the food was pretty good. The wines mediocre. We had a good time.
