Just come back from a couple of nights. We were in the blue room which was very nice - basic but chic. It was 2 simple things - easily replacable which let it down - the shower curtain and the towels. The stairs were tricky especially with luggage but we knew about that. I would go back as it;s a great location, good value for money and nice helpful staff.

Room Tip: No higher than floors 1 or 2 as there;s no lift.

The 1920's decor of the reception and bar area is perfectly intact and the rooms have been modernised to a good standard. We stayed in room 5 (the blue room) which was chic, comfortable, light and airy. Staff are attentive and friendly and the breakfast is good and plentiful.

This little hotel is a hidden gem in the heart of Brussels, just off the beaten track but only 10 mins walk from the Gare de Nord, 2 mins from the nearest Metro station and 10 mins to the Grand Place market square. It's difficult not to find good food and beer in Brussels, and within a stones throw of Esperance you will be spoilt for choice with places to while away the evenings.

Just as a warning though, the bells of Notre-Dame Du Finistere don't ring through the night, but expect to be woken at 7am with a melodic 90 second chime.... that being said I wouldn't think twice about staying here again.

Location is perfect. Good place to stay, affordable and good quality. The rooms are nice. Well decorated. Felt at home. Sleeping on the top floor, the nearby bell tower was a bit loud, recommend to close the windows if you want to sleep in late..

(I forgot an item and it was promptly sent to my address, great service!)

We only had one night in Brussels before traveling in Belgium. Esperance hotel was set in a great location with easy walking to the Grand Place and other sites. The little tavern below the hotel is comfortable and nice, with good beer of course. The room was pleasant, very clean and had a fantastic bed. We love nice showers and our room had an excellent one. A definitely nice place to stay.

This small lovely hotel in the centre of Brussels is a place I would definitely return to if in Brussels on another occasion. This is a great place to stay, two minutes from the pedestrian shopping street and with very good service.
There are one or two minor flaws though.
We would have appreciated a shower curtain (not just a glass wall )between the room and the shower. A few hooks would also have been a good idea in the bathroom, to use when hanging towels.
I also think guests, at least on the top floors, would have enoyed a lift; the stairs were quite steep and narrow.

Room Tip: Be aware of there being steep stairs and no lift.
