“Hotel Esperance”

The hotel was really perfect for our short stay. Reception was very helpful, check in easy, location great. Room a bit small. but big enough for us Bathroom was big, however, and had a great shower. No elevator, and we were on the 3rd floor, but reception carried our bag up for us, no problem. It is also a Art Deco gem, lobby was a work of art, and the room, very nicely decorated and updated. Really a great experience, and would stay there again.

Room Tip: No elevator, so the climb is a bit much if you are on the higher floors. Just get a room on the 1st...

I loved my stay at Esperance. I had the apartment at the top of the building so it was a bit of a climb up a narrow staircase but worth the effort. A microwave, electric kettle and tea/coffee making facilities were available as well as a small fridge. The hotel's bar is lovely, original art deco, and breakfast is also served down here in the morning. I was only there one night and would have liked to stay longer since my room was so lovely. It was close to everything and when I left I walked to the railway station. I arrived early and they let me leave my bags there while I went for an explore.

Room Tip: If you aren't fit choose a room on the lower floors since the stairs are narrow and steep

We stayed in this hotel 4 nights in May. At first, I was pleasantly surprised by its excellent location, 10 minutes walk away from North Station and 15 minutes from Grand Place. At check-in, the receptionist warned us that the hotel does not have an elevator and he asked us to choose the floor we wanted to stay. I choose room number 2 at the first floor and I received, along with the room access card a key for the minibar that I couldn't use because there was no lock and the minibar was empty (luckily however, it worked and I could thus keep cool some beers). The room is of normal dimensions, with no wardrobe and with only 4 coat hangers and the bathroom is poorly lighted. Unfortunately, the last day, I noticed a large stain on the bed cloth we slept in, which changed a little bit my opinion about this hotel. There was a 32'' LCD TV with 20 channels, most of them national. Breakfast is very poor.
In spite of all he above drawbacks, we may come back sometime because of its very good position.

Monsieur
Daignez me contacter personnellement.

Nice little art deco hotel. Great service from the get-go. Salem was quick to respond to our questions before our arrival. We had a room on the 1st floor (one set of stairs). It seemed recently redone. Had a small frig, was nicely decorated, bed was large and comfortable, and the bathroom was great. There was a rain shower which had its own basin- no problems with wet floors, and there were nice amenities and good towels. The breakfast was fortifying- oj, cereals, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, assorted rolls, coffee etc. Very clean. Staff friendly and willing to assist in any way. Only two blocks to Grand Place, and one block from metro stop. Great place and would stay here again.

Room Tip: There is no elevator. If you have trouble with steps, then ask for room on first floor which is one...

We stayed here one night and it was a nice little hotel. The room looked like it was recently redone and was nicely decorated. The only complaint about the room is the shower. The shower head is handheld and if the water sprays a little the design has the water not go into the tub but on the floor of the bathroom. The hotel is on a quite street just off the main shopping street to get into the center of town. It is less than a 10 minute walk to the Grand Place which is convenient. The breakfast was a nice standard European breakfast.

I stayed in the Hotel Esperance for 8 days in April. I chose it due to its location and its reviews on TripAdvisor, and it did not disappoint. It is located just around a corner from the Place de Broukeres, in central Brussels, which has a Metro stop. This made it easy to get to any part of the city from the hotel. There are also numerous restaurants of various kinds in the neighborhood, and the Grand Place is just a short walk away.

I asked for a room on the first floor since there is no elevator (it is a very small hotel) and received one (of three). My room was cosy, but very comfortable for one person. There was a lot of light, although the windows looked out on nearby buildings, no real view. The drapes were really excellent and blocked the light well, so I could sleep late in the mornings. The bathroom was spotless and had all the essentials, plus a large shower (no tub) with a great rain shower head.

What I really liked about the Hotel Esperance was the service. I arrived around 11am, checkin wasn't until 3pm, but the manager arranged to have my room ready by noon. He was also very helpful with suggestions regarding restaurants and directions, as were a couple of the other people staffing the desk. I had a personal problem while at the hotel and the manager went out of his way to make sure that I was OK and that everything was done that was necessary. It would have been very difficult for me if he had not been so accommodating.

In all, I had a great visit and can highly recommend the Hotel Esperance to anyone who wants an excellent small hotel experience.

We were given an upgrade so we had a better room than what we paid for. The room was spacious and nicely decorated be it in a modern baroque style that is not to everyone's taste, certainly not ours. We slept very well. The main assets of this hotel are its location (dead center) and its marvellous art deco cafe on the ground floor, where you take your breakfast. It has been beautifully restored and should be on every art deco lover's list.
