After living for more than teo years now in Brussels and comng often to Sablon area, we found this restaurant only today and had lunch outside being privelledged with a sunny day. The short menu with some unexpected associations was already a good promisse: all dishes that we had were delicious. We were pleasantly surprised by the foie gras with vanilla, the Saint-Pierre fish exceeded the expectations and we were again surprised by the aubergine confit at desert - all creations of the chef and owner. All dishes were very well enhanced by good wine from south of France. The service was attentive and friendly. It definitely enters our top choices in Brussels.

Delicious food in a wonderful ambiance. Had dinner there a couple of times in December and truly enjoyed both of them. Authentic french cuisine with the best ingredients. If you are looking for a Coke and french fries, don't go there. If you're into a glass of great wine with basic healthy and tasty food, this is the place!

After our fave place closed it's doors we were looking for a replacement. And this they are, the menu is very small but therefore the quality is amazing. A great place for a dinner, we come here at least 1 a month.

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Brussels, if not our favorite. This time I came with my son to celebrate his 16th birthday, and as always we were welcomed very warmly.
This restaurant brings honest and refined dishes, with a focus on cuisine from the Southern part of France, without going for clichés like cassoulet though.
The owner and cook Philippe is a very warm person and also a walking encyclopedia for wines. This, and his French origin are reflected in the wine-list, which is exquisite, and with a good price-quality balance. He has some rare bottles, but also very reasonably priced good wines on offering. My personal favorite is “le secret des roses” (« domaine d’Emile et Rose »). Important for singles (and some couples) is that you can perfectly order a whole bottle of wine even if you’re not planning to finish it completely; Philippe will put a cork on it and you can take it with you.
The food! Ah! Let it suffice to name a few dishes that stand out for us: a fantastic ravioli (very small cute ravioliss) with raw ham sliced into it; artichaut au foie gras; tartare of fish (using only the fish that is freshly available that day); ‘retour des Indes’ –with exotic yet always soft spices; a home-made mi-cuit de foie de canard; seasonal dish: a delicious young pigeon (with for once not a Languedoc-Roussillon wine but a Bourgogne). Finally, the desserts : everybody who loves chocolate should try the moelleux, it’s really extraordinary.
A little warning: this restaurant isn’t the cheapest one in town, but real gourmets will love it, and enjoy being submerged in the warmth of a household-restaurant.

We had heard of this place for some time and were excited to try it out. We took the “confidence” (i.e., surprise) menu. The appetizer was foie gras (who serves that in the middle of summer?) that tasted like soap, and the main course was a turkey fricassee that was raw in the middle. They said it was with “seasonal vegetables”, but all I saw were some mushrooms and a leek. The dessert, while being the best part of the meal, was mediocre – pineapple carpaccio with a scoop of ice cream.

It was bad and, what is more, overpriced.

Maybe this place is better if you order off the menu, but my experience with their surprise menu has ensured this will never happen.
