Owner description: Considered one of the most beautiful medieval squares in Europe, the ornate Grand Place is the center of Brussels, where many historic buildings dating from the 17th century are located.

The whole Grand Place is covered with fresh flowers and petals only every two years. It is worth seeing it even if it is rather crowded.

Very hot! one part covered in scaffolding at mo, but buildings are beautiful. Busy as we went when the flower Carpet was on, but easy to get around- once you've found Tourist Information.

I was really looking forward to this event. Sadly we went on day 4 during a heatwave- it would seem. Our viewing was early morning so we saw young people scattering new petals all over dead flowers. The colours were quite sun bleached and some were still dead. As we approached the square it was smaller than anticipated. Having said that- the anthuriums were stunning! Sadly we weren't allowed to photograph them. Probably fantastic day 1 or 2.

What a graphic visual square, everywhere you look was a picture of an era long past, whats not to like

Grand-Place Markt is the most beautiful part of Brussels and the #1 place to see there by far. There are only a handful of old buildings left in Brussels to see as many got destroyed in the war. This central square was left preserved. The only thing I regret not seeing is the flower carpet, which is only available in August every even year (we went in May). But it is still a must see no matter what time of the year. You can walk around the square and enjoy the sites. There are also plenty of restaurants available to sit, eat and enjoy.
