This was one of our favourite spots in the city. We happened to be there when the weather was nice and there was a car show going on as well as a garden party sort of thing with a few food and drink stalls. We chilled out there with a drink and a lovely sandwich. We also took a trip in the army museum which is worth looking at while you're there (free). From the museum you can go to the top of the stone monument and look over the park and the city!

Loads of space and interesting museum. Attended runs from our Brussels Beer Odyssey there! Loads of open spaces in Brussels to take time out.

This place is huge! This historical park celebrates their independence and they did it right. The gates are massive, impressive and a great photo opportunity. The grounds are beautiful and if the weather is right a great place for a picnic.

Had a short walk through these gardens. They are well maintained with interesting features and plenty of benches to stop for a break.

We visited this after friends that lived here told us about "the gates". It is just beautiful. Right off the metro stop, too. Highly recommend.
