“Awesome Location and Service. Clean, Comfortable Rooms.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 March 2013

This place is ideally located in Brussels. Right by all the exciting bars and clubs, but slightly tucked away so that you aren't bothered by drunks in the street while you sleep.

This was our first stop on our trip to Europe. As with all international travel, flight delays, etc. happen. We got in much later than we'd planned (about 12:30 AM) and Foz didn't seem bothered about having to stay up late to give us the keys. He sat happily at a small bar 2 doors down. Foz was friendly and helpful every day we were there. Gave us tips on where to eat that weren't too touristy, etc. Very gracious host. He speaks fine English, but loves speaking spanish when given the chance.

As for the accommodations, the place is halfway between a house and hotel. The rooms are all different in decour and different sizes. All very clean and contemporary with the old architecture of the house attributing to some strange room layouts.

There is a small common area where there are small pastries, bottles of water, iced coffees, and juices. There is also a small espresso machine which is quite good. You'll be very glad to start your day here w/a sip of espresso. You'll also be happy to end your night of drinking belgian beer here with a bottle of water. Very nice touch to keep patrons comfortable and happy.

Location is good. BXL somehow found a spot that is right in the middle of various clubs and beer bars, but off just enough to keep night quiet. You'll hear more from your neighbors in other BXL rooms than you will the drunks on the street. It is also conveniently located for a short walk to the tourist sites -- le mannequin pis, etc. I can't rave enough about the location.

If we ever go back to Brussels, I will definitely book here again.

Room Tip: Room selection is limited and they have only one large room for groups of more than 4 so call way ah...

You will probably walk past it a couple of times but as is so often the case in Brussels, the best things happen once you get past the facade. A discreet B&B hideaway in the middle of town and so much is within walking distance: bars, shops, restaurants and clubs. The room we stayed in was large and had a very comfortable double bed, the lighting is well thought out too and you could have a cozy dimmed look or a reading light above your head which meant that you could do just that: read! The bathroom and separate WC are small but stylish and spotlessly clean but what amazed us both the most was just how quiet it was there, what a haven of peace from the busy hubbub of the city just meters away! The breakfast is simple but enough to get you going for the day and so all in all a great little place to stay, so needless to say it is often full...

What an excellent find. Booked this some months ago from a trusted travel provider but didn't really do too much research before doing so.

Cannot recommended highly enough. The rooms are private, contemporary and comfortable. Location absolutely perfect (which was hard to believe when walking from Brussels midi/zuid station - not the best) and staff, although contact limited, very friendly and welcoming. Given the relative low cost of this unique base, I'd find it very difficult to even contemplate staying elsewhere in brussels

Wasn't sure what it would be like from the outside but what a delightful place to stay. Fonz was most welcoming, very friendly and helpful for ideas for places to visit.
Small dining area where you could help yourself to drinks and also had a lot of literature on Brussels.
Located only a 3 minute walk from Grand Place and lots of restaurants close by. If I am ever going through Brussels again then I will definitely stay here again.

Just returned from 2 nights at this hotel. It was very central with a good variety of cuisines available in a short distance from hotel. The twin room that I shared with my daughter was very modern and comfortable, although would have benefited having some bedside reading lamps! Fons, who looks after guests as well as the hotel was extremely helpful and kind, even making us a take away breakfast as we had to catch the early morning Eurostar back to London. This hotel is situated in the perfect place to go off sight seeing and shopping, it used to be a medal making workshop and it has retained a lot of funky features. We really enjoyed our short break here and would not hesitate to return and recommend to other visitors.

A family owned small hotel in the very centrum of Brussels. There was no reception but a friendly man handled the check in and out but we did not get any receipts. In spite of the central location, there were no noice all. The junior suite was spacious and the bedroom was in upper floor. The beds were good. Strong recommendations.

My sister and I stayed at BXLRoom for 2 nights and it was amazing! the location is great. When you get of the building, restaurants and bars is just in front of you. 5 minutes walk going to Grand Place and 10 minutes walk to Manniken Pis, and 25 minutes walk to Gare Centraal.
In the website, there is a like a door with a wheel painted on it. They removed that painting/drawing already. Keynote is, BXLROOM is in front of Man Man Thai Restaurant, there is no signage outside so be alert of the bldg numbers.
