“good location, good service”
Reviewed 30 December 2013

we started our trip in this good hotel, it is in the centre of Brussels with easy parking places . the rooms were good and the staff were excellent. good buffet breakfast for every one in the family. secure to go out and come in specially at my walk and smoke in the early morning. always there is someone at reception day or night. all beds in both the rooms were in a very good order.

Stayed two nights in December in this hotel. Arriving by train at Brussels Central station, the trick to get to the hotel is to select the right exit and once you turn right after Le Meridian hotel, it is less than 5 minutes downhill. While the family room is tight for a family of 4, i guess this is the best price in town at such a price at such a hotel and location. Bathroom was small but i do appreciate the separation of the toilet from the bathroom since there were four of us. Our room was on the second storey which is just above the taxi stand. Although we were apprehensive about the noise but that was unfounded and had good sleep on all the nights.
Being 5 minutes away from the central station, it made this hotel a great base for travel in Belgium. Day trips were easy to Bruges, Ghent and Antwerp. It is also a couple of minutes walk to the Grand Place with its beautiful lights at this time of the year. The 'Visit Brussels' tourist information within Grand Place was however less than friendly. Took a walking tour around the key attractions and the shopping zone is also within walking distance.
Got a great tip from the reception on my departure that trains will depart from platforms 2,4 and 6 from the central station for Brussels Midi.
While the room is not perfect, i feel that the location and its convenience as well as the service provided by their staff more than compensate for it. Will certainly return to it on my next stay in Buressels.

Stayed at this hotel during the start of summer. Quite the best part of this hotel is its location, just off Grand Place the heart of Brussels. Also, what for me turned out to be biggest boon, it was just next to the Brussels Midi station, from where just about anywhere in the region is just a short train ride away.

At first glance this is an old hotel, but that’s just the façade. The room was smallish, but then that is the region’s standard. That said, it had everything expected of a hotel of this level. The room I stayed in overlooked the street but was not overly noisy. The bed was okay, the sofa a definite boon. The staff was quite helpful, above the average European standards, I would say.

There is a basic, decent restaurant, Foodsquare, on the ground floor, though of course, all around the hotel there are lovely eating places. It has a decent buffet, though cold stuff seemed to dominate.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the street and near the elevator would be preferable.

Hotel is in a good, central location. We stayed just for a day and I'm so thankful for that! I am regular traveller in Europe and don't recall the last time I had to write a negative review.

Upon arrival and entering the room, we noticed the third bed/sofabed made wasn't "made". When mentioning it to housekeeping directly, I was shown where the linen was and had to make it up myself... We also stayed on 5th floor and agree with other reviews... room was small for a "family" room allowing barely the bed and sofa bed next to each other. Main bed mattress was hard like a rock my parents didn't have a comfortable sleep. Pillow linens were yellow compared to the bed sheet . Had taken a picture to show reception. Hotel staff appeared professional but not so friendly. Wireless was slow too. Finally the main thing that really annoyed me... All rooms seem to be connected to a central air conditioning system and it was actually chiller in the room compared to the outside corridors that felt nice & warm! When complained we were given an electric heater which actually did it's job for heating up the room but there shouldn't have been any need for it. Will certainly come back to Brussels but not at this hotel!

Room Tip: If you are looking for a hotel close to the palace this is great however you may be disappointed wit...

Just spent a night at this hotel, we (two adults, two children, staying in the "cosy family room") had a beautiful time in Brussels during the Christmas night. It's already said previously, no need to repeat: quiet, modern, good rooms, perfect location, very close to Grand Place, just 1-2 minutes from there. It's in the middle of everything, so really a nice location. Take care, the hotel does not have its own parking but I suggest parking your car just across, it's called Interparking Grand Place (the address for navigation is Grasmarkt 104, that's how I got there). I paid about 20 euros and my par was parked more than 24 hours there. Once you park it there, just look for "Novotel" exit, it's marked as such, as there are more exits ("Grand Place", "church" etc). I could give it 5 stars but because of the expensive breakfast (23 euros per person, I was told, we took it, it was really nothing special) and the lack of parking, I will give it well-deserved 4 stars and I will definitely try to go there again.

Room Tip: Our room was on the 5th, last floor, no sounds from outside.
