The First Euroflat Hotel is situated in a short walking distance to most of the institutions of the european union. The hotel seems to be built in the 70s and nothing in the hotel has been changed since then. That doesn't mean that the hotel is run down, but it is simply old. So the decently sized apartments resemble a journey through time back in the 70s. The apartments are moderately clean and feature kitchenettes and at least the apartments on higher floors are equipped with an AC, these in the lower floors not. The breakfast buffet is excellent but not available before 7 o'clock, bad if you have an early appointment. There are a lot of restaurants and pubs in close proximity to the hotel. The offer decent food and drinks for a good price, the only remark is that you will attract intention if you do not wear a suit as nearly everyone wears one because there are mostly employees of the EU around. There is even a 24 hrs shopette in Rue Franklin which is quiet near and a carrefour express supermarket on the Place Schuman. The public express bus to and from the airport, line 12 stops 200m away from the hotel in Rue Archimede. The metro station is 400 meters away on Place Schuman - a perfect way to get to the city center and grand place. So if you are on a business trip concerning the EU and your government or your company is on a tight budget or if you have distinct preference for the 70s the First Euroflat Hotel is your choice! If you are on a brussels trip with your family or spouse it's definitely the wrong hotel!

My stay was excellent, views to the European Commission. A clean and a safety hotel but a little bit far from the city centre (about 20min walking). No problem, you will have metro schuman near. If you are going for a couple of days to the European area, it will perfect!

This hotel offers almost everything ou may need, no matter whether on business od leisure. Large rooms with kitchen, coffee/tea making facility, bar, bathroom with cosmetics, several tables/desks to work at or have meals plus free wi-fi everywhere in the hotel. The rooms are basically fully equipped small flats. The only thing i miss is a proper restaurant. In the lobby bar you can have but basic drinks and some snacks. But then if you walk a bit, you find number of restaurants and pubs in the surroundings.

Room Tip: Great view over Brussels if you stay at higher floors.

I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights while visiting the European Commission. It is one tiny block away from the Berleymont and the Charlemagne buildings, so the location cannot be beat if you are in town for EU-related business. I did not have a problem using it as a base for exploring the center city either - the metro takes 10 minutes and is very convenient.
The hotel itself is pretty good, although there are certainly some things that can be improved. I was pleasantly surprised by the spaciousness of the room, this fact, combined with the kitchenette and plentiful shelf space, shows that it would be a good place for a longer stay. However, there was one thing I found strange - there were two closet-type cabinets that only would make sense as a space to hang clothes, but there were no hangers in them and no bar to place your own hangers, if they resolve this issue, the room could be considered even better. Yes, the bathroom is outdated, but I was not in there looking for style. A more concerning detail was that the sink is pretty shallow, and the water pressure is pretty strong, so I ended up splattered every time I washed my hands. However, I encountered a similar issue in other buildings in Brussels, so maybe that's a city issue?
The breakfast had probably the most variety of any hotel breakfast I have ever seen - hot and cold meats, boiled and scrambled eggs, cereal+milk, several kinds of pastries and breads, cheeses, butter, juice machine, etc., but then again, I've never stayed in a 4-star hotel before, so I don't know, maybe it's standard for that type of hotels.
If this hotel had a proper pool, I'd give it an even better review.
