It's situated just a couple of minutes of walking from the central station.
Hotel & room is clean, decent personell, very comfy beds and they have good breakfast.
It's a very 'green' hotel too. For instance: the trash bin is devided in sections to recycle your trash. Only complaint is that someone (maid?) opened the door while me and my friend were still sleeping at around 9 AM (check out time wasn't till noon).. so much for privacy.

The Scandic Grand Place has a Nordic touch, has a good location quite near Grand Place (but there are hotels nearer), and the rooms are modern (but not very big). Some rooms, like mine, has window towards the atrium, which is the heart of the hotel. This was not a problem for me, as the windows can be opened (but not in full). I had no problems with noise from the atrium bar and restaurant even with the window open all night. The staff are nice and the meeting facilities are good. Good nordic breakfast buffet. All in all a nice place with good value for money, which I gladly will come back to, but it's not a very special hotel. A typical Scandic, I guess.

My husband and I stayed at the Scandic Hotel Grand Place on our recent weekend visit to Brussels. As we enjoy the best hotels we were keen to book only a 4 or 5 star hotel and was given the option of the Scandic Hotel being of 4 star standard and very central in Brussels.
Upon arrival around 08.30pm on a Friday evening we were greeted by the night receptionist at the hotel who did not appear to have much knowledge of the hotel or its systems. We were given a room on the second floor of the hotel which proved a bit of a mission to get to due to the amount of small corridors you had to navigate to get to the room.
The room was so small there was not room to even put our cases. The room was internal to the hotel so no outside window nor decent air conditioning to the room or the bathroom. There was only one towel in the bathroom even though it was supposed to be a double room and only one pillow on the bed which was a very small double bed. We requested as extra pillow and towels from reception only to be told we had to wait unitl the morning as no housekeeping was available.
The next morning we did not receive the extra items!
The used towel which we had to use to mop the bathroom floor due to the shower leaking was not replaced by the housekeeping staff and when we requested clean towels the following morning we were told to collect them ourselves from reception due to them being short staffed.
Although clean this hotel is not of a 4 star standard and the service is terrible and if you happen to be on the bigger side then don't bother with the rooms or beds here as you will be very uncomfortable. We just about managed and we are very small people!

This is a hard review. Mixed feelings about this hotel. To start, if you're arriving by car as i did you can start saying your prayers. There´s no private parking and way worse, no place to stop and unload your luggagge! If you're lucky there's a small lane across the street where you can stop for a few minutes, but it's hard to have a spot. There´s a big and non-expensive parking nearby, but not near enough if you're carrying heavy luggagge. That means that if you ´re not lucky the only solution will be block the heavy traffic and risk your chances with local cops and furious drivers. The double superior room is very spacious and has everything you need, but the decoration is a disaster. Terrible taste for the furnitures and painting. Location is great, believe me it´s really close to everything. Breakfast, always included in scandic's hotels, is very good. You can use a computer and printer for two hours freely. There´s a brasserie, wich i didn't try, and a bar. The barman from philippines is a great guy. One night we ran out of liquid soap that is fixed on the wall next to the shower. As we're leaving for dinner i asked the attendent to replace it. She told me it would be impossible because it was 9p.m. and there´s no one to do it, although she would give me the soap so i could replace it by myself when i return. OK, not a problem, if i weren't in a 4 stars hotel.

Stayed for 6 nights, for business and did some sightseeing. as for business facilities, the only shortcoming was that the wireless internet voucher had to be obtained from the reception and was only valid for 2 hrs. But staff was helpful and provided all assistance when needed.

Breakfast is varied, liked the option of gluten free bread, if you asked the waiter. Good table service, though seemed a bit of rush, maybe because the breakfast area is small and would get packed at times. But felt responsible and after eating took coffee/juice at the bar and sipped it peacefully. Refill of table was on time, no feeling of more food needed. Especially good the smoked salmon and the beans. For Germans or others: no sausages/wurst, only bacon :-).

The room on 2 nd floor was cosy and nice, simple but not poor. Got a free upgrade, thanks :-). Good choice of TV channels. Room supplies ok, as well as service.

Also liked the sauna option, always hot and steamy.
As for the location, it is excellent. From the hotel you cannot miss the St. Hubertus Galleries that take you directly to the labyrinth of the narrow cobbled streets around the old city, and Grote Markt.

Good promotion of environment protection and sustainability policies of the Scandic chain, though what is advertised on walls and public areas may mean not much if you are not knowledgeable of the matter. Maybe a less-specialized language used could do better.

Great location for central Brussels. 250m from the Central Station/Metro (though the road between the two is currently being dug up and actually takes about 400m). 50m from Gallery Roi. 150m from the St Michaels Cathedral, 400m from Grand Place. 400m from Rue Neuve (?) for shopping.

Fifth floor room facing Rue Arenburg (small windows); very quiet, no intrusive traffic noise. King size bed. Widescreen/flatscreen TV. Not a big room but big enough for a short stay. Bathroom was functional, starting to look tired, but kept very clean by the staff.

Free breakfast included. Comprehensive buffet. Continential (bread, pastries, cheese, ham, jam, fruit, etc) and hot (boiled eggs, bacon, mushrooms, etc).

Stayed 3 nights for 297Euros. Booked 5 weeks in advance directly on the Scandic web-site on a non-refundable basis. Friendly staff. Check out is 1200, but they have a secure luggage store for guest use for free - useful if you have an afternoon/evening Eurostar to catch like us.

Highly recommended.
