“Nice central hotel”
Reviewed 1 October 2013

Right in the middle of the City within a couple of minutes walk of the Grand Place and about ten minutes walk from the Central Station. Lots of bars, restaurants and shops on your doorstep. Very modern rooms recently renovated. Clean and comfortable. The corridors have yet to be renovated and really let down the rest of the hotel but I imagine these will be done up in due course. Reasonably good breakfast and good enough value if you get it included in a room deal but I wouldn't say it's worth the 10 euro charge if it's not already included in your price. Excellent cafes/patisseries and waffle stands close by and chocolatiers by the dozen. Brussels is a beautiful city - I just wish we had more time to explore it on this trip but made the most of the weekend - used the hop-on-hop-off bus tours which was a good value and convenient way to see around the city and get to the major sights. Would definitely go back.

We stayed in Brussels on our way to Paris from Germany and it was a super idea as Brussels has so much to offer. Saint Nicolas is located in the square area so is blocked off to cars so park in the parking garage two blocks away. Location was nice and easy to get around, we did the hop on and hop off tour bus to see the sights. This is a must in this city as driving is crazy! The hotel is on a street full of construction and just off the main roads. We had a party of 4 so they put us across the street in there second property. This property was also under construction but did not interfere with our stay. The hall way smelled like piss as it was next to a betting bar and across from a Casino, we think men used it as a bathroom. The room was very nice and clean, Bathroom was very small, shower door would not accommodate a large person! Main room was huge with full kitchen, sofa sleeper, single bed, table and chairs. The main bed room was in the back and big in size with a private door. Must say the sofa sleeper is very cheap and unconformable to sleep on- they should invest in better quality. Over all great room we had but not in main hotel so cant commit on lobby, ect of main building. Now the street was very noisy do to the construction, drunks going home, Casino across the street and bar next to the entrance, no one slept well. Brussels is a must lots of fun and great sights and food, would we stay again? maybe but would shop around first, Cheers

Room Tip: if you have a party of 3 or less stay in the main hotel should be quieter if not keep window shut if...

My room has its door freshly painted so the smell was overpowering during my stay. I suspect my room was recently refurbished and it was quite comfortable with an ensuite shower. The reception ran out of maps but he was nice enough to print me a google map. The lift didnt work on the second day and there was no signs at all, come to realize it wasnt working after 5 mins because it takes around the same time to summon it even when it is working. had to figure out how to get down because the staircase are not cleary marked, finally when i figure out where the stairs are, it was filled with construction materials n dangling wires, also need to exit on the first floor,n use a second set of stairs, definitely a dusty hazardous maze. Noise from outside along the corridor was also clearly heard from the room. Location is good, close to almost everything

I stayed at this hotel on a business trip in June 2013 and was worried because of all the negative reviews, but my stay was perfectly fine - the room was nice, very quiet at night, the reception staff were very helpful and friendly. I didn't have breakfast, and, the lobby is not terribly appealing, but it's a perfect central location and the price was very reasonable. I have no complaints and would stay here again. Brussels can be hit and miss, and sometimes the hotels are too expensive for what you are getting, but this one was perfectly fine.

Room Tip: A room at the back is quiet, and there may be noise at night if your room overlooks the street.

We arrived about 11am and the receptionist was very friendly in offering to store our cases in the baggage room as check-in is 2pm. This hotel is about 7 mins walk away from Brussels Central station and 3 minutes walk from the Grand Place. Room was ready bang on 2pm. There are only lifts up to the rooms are they were a bit creepy but we never had any problems with them. The hotel said they were in the process of renovations and we were the first guests to stay in our newly refurbished room. The room was fabulous, very clean and spacious and includes a hairdryer. It can get a bit noisy at night as there is a club on the other side of the road and a casino nearby but the windows are very thick so it keeps out most of it and my earplugs kept out the rest so I recommend bringing a pair. Breakfast wasn't included in our booking but could be added for €10 per person per day. We just chose to eat breakfast in a cafe up the road for less than €5. Over all we had a very pleasant stay and would definitely go back.

Room Tip: Rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors are quieter.

The only good thing about this hotel is the location. It is close to the city center, so convenient for a city trip. But noisy at night because of a night club near by.
When we were there they said they were in the middle of a renovation. But after renovating a room you expect that they would clean it first before putting customers in it. But they didn't and I stepped in a big rusty nail, there was (saw)dust all over the place and the curtains were hanging off the rail.
The beds were old and need replacement.
There are no stairs for guests and the only fire escape exit was blocked with broken beds and chairs. So in case of a fire, you will not get out alive.
The breakfast buffet was poor, there was no fruit at all, just some different types of bread, some cheese and lunch meats. All covered in fruit flies!!!!
Luckily the staff were friendly. Maybe they feel bad about their own hotel as well, because the question 'did you enjoy your stay?' wasn't asked when we checked out.
