The photos online are not the reality at all; hotel needs serious renovation. The only good thing was the size of the room and the size of the beds. Other than that the rooms are so old, bathroom is a wreck, all rusted, water doesn't go through in the sink and tub so you always have to deal with an inroom flood. Location is fine as the Tram is opposite the hotel which drops you off at the center; receptionists were helpful though. Would not recommend it

Location is good, it has a tram stop right in front of it, but otherwise I would prefer somewhere else if I return to Brussels.
It was clean, but not spotless. Furniture is old and torn. The same goes with the bathroom, you can see old marks of dirt.
The worst part, for me, was that the room was meant to be a non-smoker, but: the smell was terrible and the inside part of the window was full of cigarrete ash, so they didn't even clean that part of the room.

Good location on Avenue Louise near a tram stop but the hotel has seen better days. The rooms are very spacious but that's not much of a virtue when they are virtually empty. We had a loft room that had a bedroom and bathroom upstairs and a large room on the main floor also with a bed and a couple of chairs and a TV, and lots of empty space - a couch would have been a nice addition. New carpet, a coat of paint and some new furniture and this would be a much improved hotel.

Hotel Brussels in Brussel is located in an appartment building and the rooms are what you'd expect: appartment like. But I should say 'abandoned appartments', because that is the feeling you get when entering the room. Spacious is one word to use, empty is the other. A small table, a small TV and lot's of unused floor space.
The bathroom and toilet are rather small (compared to the size of the room) and really 'ancient'. One could describe the decor of the room as vintage, but old is a better way to describe it. The bed is of good quality (seemed hard at first, but had a good night sleep on it) and the linen is clean, at least, so it seems.
At a internet rate of 130 euro the hotel wasn't cheap, but that is probably also due to the location of the hotel. There was some hassle in the booking process and when checking in it seemed as if they didn't have many customers. By the way: the city tax for Brussels is astronomically high (over 4 euro per person per day!!!).
The breakfast, included in the price mentioned, was standard. It was 40 minutes underway when I entered the breakfast room and there I found no plates, no cutlery and an overworked waiter. Something to improve...

Room Tip: Some rooms smell of smoking allthough it is a non smoking hotel. Some rooms are split level (I am no...

We stayed for 3 nights last weekend and although I would say that this hotel would have been a 4 star many years ago, the decor is in extreme need of an upgrade.
Would I stay here again though? Possibly but would depend on how much you pay for the room. We booked through Thomas Cook and although I would not rate Thomas Cook at all for their service, the prices were ok and I would say the amount paid for the room was value for money.
Breakfast - This was pretty good and couldn't fault it. We had breakfast at different times and they did keep ensuring that everything was well stocked up. Breakfast includes cereals, various types of bread and small croissants. Two cheeses, salami and ham. Cooked options were scrambled eggs, mushrooms and bacon. 3 types of juice and coffees / teas etc. There was also some pastries as well.
Room - dated but comfortable. Don't expect it to be luxurious though and you won't be disappointed. Room was clean though and bed was good for me. Slept well.
Bathroom - very dated and could do with an overhaul as although clean, it had seen better days. Shower good though. Quite powerful water.
Service - always very pleasant and helpful to us although didn't really need anything
Safe - There is no safe in room but one downstairs and were not charged for using it
Location - The walk into the main part of town is longer than you think. Roughly 30 minutes however tram just outside. The road is an expensive one with designer shops.
Taxes - You do have to pay this separately however, Thomas Cook had said this in advance so were expecting this. It was 4.77 a night
Would I recommend staying here? As long as you pay a fair price then yes I would say this is not bad hotel. If only they updated the furniture / decor, it would be a very nice hotel.

I have used this hotel several times because it often comes up as one of the suggestions in train-plus-hotel packages on the Eurostar on-line booking page for trips from London. It is basically a place for business travellers and not in the prime tourist area, but during the weekend room prices come down dramatically, which makes it well worth considering for a short stay. The rooms are large and quiet, with king-size beds, table, chairs, television and mini-bar, and well-equipped, clean en suite bathrooms. Staff are efficient and unobtrusive. Breakfast is extra and payable on the spot; a cheaper alternative if you are not in a hurry is a classy café round the corner to the left, which has newspapers too. There is also a nightly city tax to pay, of about 6 euros a head. That seems to be standard in all Brussels hotels. There is a combined bus and tram stop right in front from which there are services to the Avenue Louise shopping area (interconnection with the Metro), the Sablon (smart cafés), the Royal Palace and Palais des Beaux Arts and on to the city centre, and, in other directions, to the lively Place Flagey and the fine public park at the Bois de la Cambre.

Room Tip: Double glazing blocks out the noise of the busy street at the front but to be absolutely sure of qui...

We stayed for one night, the greeting was very professional (although the building is hard to spot - tiny sign) we luckily had a small car getting it into the tiny garage door was a challenge that the proprietor helped with and we needed it. The room was large, lovely and clean. Very modern decor and high standard fittings. We liked the garden area which was immaculate and took our breakfast there. We were a little warm (no air con only small fans) and couldn't get the wifi connection to work but liked the small touches like access to the kitchen to make drinks and complimentary biscuits.

Room Tip: Request a room with a view of the garden (ours was onto the street and the local children were a lit...
