Really disappointed by this museum. I was looking forward to it having seen the reviews on TripAdvisor, but it was just naff from start to finish. Hard to even see it as there's a beer sign which is bigger than the 'Musee' words. When you buy your tickets you get given a slot for the demonstration and told to have a look around the museum when you wait - this can be done in 10 minutes max if you know anything at all about chocolate beforehand. We popped out and came back for the demo, and then had to wait again for another 15 minutes because there were so many people we couldn't see a thing. I was refused a refund too, for the strange reason that he had already made the chocolate... When we finally saw the demo, it was just how he puts melted chocolate in a mould and how many different shapes he can make. He said he would speak in English but mostly spoke French the whole way through so half of us were lost through his demo. Wouldn't recommend this to anyone, even for 5€, total waste.

I found ot to be very educational. Its not really a museum but more of an information center for chocolate. The demonstration was awesome. And we got to tey many pieces of chocolate inside the museum. It was interesting to read about some of the history and see the actually cocoa bean. Its right in the grand place. So why not check it out.

We hesitated to visit this museum since it had 2.5 stars, but decided to go since recent reviews were good and we were already at the grand place. It is right off the square. And like other recent reviews, we really enjoyed this fantastic museum. It is short but sweet! It has great samples, an awesome demonstration of how to make chocolates, and the guide speaks at least three languages, including English. The museum has the history and production exhibit in several languages. My 7 year old daughter says there are some cool chocolate sculptures that you don't want to miss. Of note, there is no bathroom.

Although it is true that this is a very small museum it is still well worth the visit. Spread over 3 floors the story of chocolate is told. Some of the sculptures made from chocolate are amazing. Be sure not to miss the display of 2 dresses and a hat made entirely of chocolate.
At frequent intervals a demonstration is given showing how pralines are made and there are opportunities to taste. The biscuits dipped into dark liquid chocolate are especially delicious.

The museum is too small, just three rooms on three floors. Actually, only the second one has some interesting staff about gathering of cocao beans. The bright sides are: free chocolade and very charismatic (chocolade) cooker. On the other hand, the price is not high: just 5 euro.
