Stayed here recently for a football match in Heysel. A low budget hotel based very close to Grand Place. Good value for what we paid. Rooms are functional more than luxurious but more than adequate if you just require a base for your stay in Brussels. For some reason, shower fixings are not fixed to wall so you need to hold fixings above your head yourself to take a shower. Not an unsurmountable problem but can be tiresome.
Staff are friendly & polite but not overly communicative. Did not take breakfast but it looked ok if you like the continental style of breakfast. Would recommend this hotel if you are on a budget. Plenty of bars & restaurants nearby with the metro literally just round the corner.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the bourse and main road have better views with more to see, although they may be...

I've been in November 2012 at the hotel with some friends of mine (unforgettable belgian beer tour!) and the very first comment is that it is absolutely perfect for friends who just want to walk around in the city and simply need a bed to sleep without particular expectations.
The hotel is a low/medium budget standard one, the room anyway suited with our need: 4 guys in 4 single beds in separate rooms. The location is as promised in the web: practically next to everything, Grand Place and main monuments are "a spit" away, metro station, bus stop and any type of local.
You can go there without worrying of having a car with you (and for Bruxelles is not a secondary aspect, considering the normal traffic jam at any time).
The structure is old, so it is suggested for short permanence (1/2 days).
Basic but acceptable the quality of the breakfast (included).
I thinks I will come back in the same hotel in case of "replicas" with my friend, anyway I would also suggest the hotel to young couples or familiys with samlll childs that want to visit Bruxelles without taking public transports or to walk too much.

This hotel is in a great location for visiting Brussels if you want to be based near the Grand Place. We wanted somewhere you dont have to walk to far to get home after an evening out and this is the ideal place. Its on a main walk way leading out of the Grand Place so you dont have to go down any side roads or off the beaten track. The only downside it could be a bit noisy if you have a room overlooking the road, but we had a room on the inside so the noise at night was minimal and did not disturb us.
The staff were polite, the only thing with the Hotel it seems expensive for what it is, I would use the word dated, the room was big and the bed was extremely big and very comfortable. There was a broken draw and the shelves in the cupboard were a bit dusty so we left our clothes in our bags as it was only 2 nights. The bathroom was clean. The room was cleaned just not all over.
The breakfast is in the restaurant that is part of the Hotel, but the business was being relocated and was having the appliances from the kitchen moved out. The shelf at the back of the seat was very dusty but we put this down to the restaurant moving but it was a working restaurant up to the day we got there. The selection of the breakfast was good for a basic cold buffet breakfast, and when the Croissants ran out they went and got some more, but on the second morning a family of 4 had taken all the croissants and they would not get any more which left only bread rolls to have. And for some reason there was no heat on in the restaurant on the second morning which meant it was quite cold in there.
Breakfast = Croissants/pain au chocolat, bread rolls, corn flakes, juices to drink, tea and coffee, ham, cheese, pate, yoghurt, tinned peaches, jams and chocolate.

I would stay here again but not sure I would pay the 119 euro a night.

Room Tip: An inside room, if you want a quiet room.

I spent 3 nights during December 2012 in hotel Matignon and I have to admit that it wasn’t a great experience. I had rent a triple room on the second floor. The hotel is located just of Grand place, opposite La bourse. As it is in the heart of the city it was very noisy during the night. I could hear drunken people passing by along with the noise from the cars. Apart from that the room was dirty. It had carpets on the floor that had never been cleaned. Also the tabs in the bathroom were filthy. The furniture of the room was out dated . Still the worst experience was breakfast. Breakfast was served in a room on the ground floor. I will not mention the variety which was limited (they only had bread, cheese, ham, yogurt and some croissants that were dated) I will outline the fact they didn’t have a washing machine for the plates and the glasses. A lady that worked as a waitress washed them herself. How I know? She was washing them behind the bar. How clean can be plates that are hand washed??? She also used the same piece of fabric to clean the tables and to wipe the plates. They say it is a 3 star hotel but I would say 2 at most. You may think it was very cheap but I spent 139 Euros per night. For the same money I have stayed in much better hotels. Bottom line I would never stay there again and I strongly advise you to avoid it as well.

A group of 13 of us stayed here for one night while we were in Brussels for a football match. The room I stayed in was for five people, it was very spacious and was fine for a short stay. The buffet breakfast was good and the Grand Place was just a couple of minutes walk away.

It was short stay, Hotel is located in front of the stock exchange building (La Bourse) & The Marriott Hotel, in the most beautiful place in Brussels. 02 mn walking to the Grand Place which is surrounding with lot of historical buildings & shops....

Hotel it self is not excellent but not bad, room was larger enough, average breakfast with little varities but acceptable, free WIFI in the entire hotel.

Evening time is very special in the hotel area, specially the Asian sector (03 mn walking), while you will find mostly of the international pubs & Bars from Thailand, Vietnam, Korea, China and the favorite Buddha Bar which is having a unique theme with his famous Vietnamian expert barman.

Lot of shops around specially in (Rue Neuf) with a lot of international brands, and prices are not expensive as some of them aready launched the winter sale, and some are extremley expensive.

Metro station is close to the hotel entrance door (Bourse Station) while you can go to anywhere in the town....

Room Tip: Request the higher floor to avoid the street noise
