A weekend in Brussels, one night in the hotel. A very good impression of the hotel's design.
Very nice people at the reception who kindly greet you on the Sunday morning before breakfast. The breakfast was good, a good variety for a good full breakfast (good quality bread, pancakes were delicious).
Very well situated.
Just a small "-" on the room cleaning (2-3 things from the to do list were forgotten).

Stayed for a weekend and really loved this hotel! Great and very friendly staff, with excellent manners and always willing to assist you. Room was very nice, clean and spacious. Bathroom was a bit small but didnt really matter. Plain breakfast buffet, have to try the chocolate croissants! Very nice location, close to Metro station but also in walking distance from the city center. Private parking at a reasonable price, located right next to the hotel which is very convinient. Next time in Brussels I would definitely choose Noga again!

Stayed 3 nights in a double room with my partner. Was refreshing to be in a place with a little character. Great central location, 1 min walk to the nearest metro station (Sainte-Catherine), 5 mins walk to the restaurants etc and 10 mins to Grand Place, but hotel location itself is nice and quiet. Room was nice and big. Good, clean facilities, reasonably priced Wi-Fi, very reasonably priced mini-bar with good Belgian beers. Friendly staff. Don't stay here if you want something predictable and bland...do stay here if you want something charming and a little bit different in a good location.

My wife and I stayed three nights at the Hotel Noga while visiting Brussels, and we are glad that we did. The owner, who speaks very fluent English, was one of the friendliest, most helpful and informative hosts we had in our five week stay in France and Belgium.

The rooms are large and clean, and our bed was very comfortable. Our room was quiet enough to keep windows open all night long.

The breakfast buffet was one of the best and most expansive we had: smoked salmon, hard boiled eggs, sliced tomatoes, a meat platter, an assortment of cheeses, loads of fresh friuit, croissants and breads, yogurt and cereal, plus scrambled eggs and mushrooms. All for 6 euros. What a bargin.

The hotel is not far from the Grand Place- about a 10 minute walk- but it is right in the St. Katherine's area with many great restaurants to choose from.

Very often writing a review on a hotel is easy because the traveler notices from the start if they have chosen a good hotel and on the contrary because you perceive that the hotel is not going to fulfill the expectations. In case of Noga Hotel in Brussels, the matter is much more difficult. We chose the Noga hotel for a 10 day stay in Brussels, from August 17th until August 27th, encouraged by some positive reviews made by TrypAdvisor users. However, when we got to the Hotel and entered the hall, the first question that came into our mind was: how can this Hotel be rated 8,5 out of 10? The dark and narrow entry framed with an antiquated and démodé decoration was making us think that we had made a great mistake in the choice. The check-in, carried out without asking ID documents, accentuated our feeling that it was really a pension, not a real Hotel. The second surprise was the fact that the two rooms we had reserved (we are a couple with a 15 year old daughter) were located in different floors (first and fourth). Nevertheless they promised to solve the problem the next morning. While the room in the 4th floor was a exterior room and had a normal size, the one in the first floor looked like a cell. After this first negative impression, the situation was improving the following days thanks to the change of room. Both rooms were exterior now and reasonably wide, silent and had a good quality-price relation. The breakfast buffet, priced 6 € for person and day, was limited but very suitable if you consider the money you pay, and the room facilities were the normal ones in any 3 or 4 star hotel. Besides, a piano was available in the dining room, and our daughter could use it at certain hours. The staff, especially the boss, was excellent and cordial at all time. Even if the Hotel is not located the city Center, it has an excellent situation, as you can get to the Grand Place in a ten minute walk, and in fifteen to the Central Station, the most important point in Brussels, from where you can have access to many interesting cities. Some may think that it’s an advantage to stay in a Hotel near the Grand Place, but we do not recomend it, because Brussels’ city centre is noisy, even late at night. So far we had a very positive impression about Noga Hotel and we were very satisfied, to the point we would have written a very positive review in case we would have stayed there for only four or five days. There were minor disadvantages: the antiquated decoration of the hall, the old and narrow elevator, the scanty bathroom supplies, the fact that the reception desk was not available 24h a day, since it was closed from 22 or 23 p.m. to 7 a.m., or the additional charges for using minor services as of the billiard table or of Internet wifi (a tablet was available for free in the dining room, but it was too slow). The cost of the wifi connection was five euros a day.
Nevertheless, the whole was worth it. The problems began as of the fifth or sixth day, when the cleaning service began to stop replenishing the shower gel which forced us to go to the reception desk up to three times to get some. Also we noticed that the cleaning service did not do its work completely, because the stains on the floor were not cleaned. They even forgot a dirty cloth on the table and it remained on the spot for two days! As the check out day approached, the room services were becoming worse. Two days before our departure they did not change the towels in the bathroom and, when we denounced it in the reception desk, the receptionist told us that we had to leave the dirty towels in the floor in order to let them know that they had to replace them. Strange, as far as it had not been necessary to do it earlier. So, the next day (our last full day in Brussels) we did it as we were told, we let the dirty and moisted towels on the floor and, after our breakfast we went out at 10,30 a.m and we returned to our room at 15,30 p.m. to have a nap after lunch. It was not a typical nap; it was our first nap since our arrival and it was motivated by a terrible headache my wife had. So we decided to give her a short release from an exausting ten day holiday visiting Bruges, Gent, Amsterdam, Anvers, etc. When we got to the hotel, surprise: everything in both rooms was exactly as we left them: towels on the floor (dirty and moisted, of course), the shower gel missing, the bed not yet arranged, etc. I went down to reception to ask for an explanation. The employee promised me to have the room clean and tidy in the evening. He asked me how long we were going to stay in the hotel, and I answered that until 17 p.m. However, even though I told him clearly our leaving hour, at 4 p.m. the room service knocked the door to ask for permission to enter the room. My wife told the lady out and bided her to come back later. I think it is incredible that a 19 room Hotel has no time to get the cleaning work finished in the morning (two people only need a few hours to get everything done even if the hotel is full, which was not the case), but the most incredible of all is their lack of sensibility toward the guests and the lack of respect for their privacy. I do not know which part of “we will be out as of 17 p.m.” the receptionist did not understand. And, as we promised, we were out of the hotel exactly at 17 p.m., pressed by the circonstances. When we came back at 23 p.m. we could not believe it: the room was exactly as we left it. And it was a good thing the reception desk was still opened, if not we wouldn’t have been able to ask for clean towels and shower gel. We went again to the reception desk, and this time very angry, for this was the height of incompetence and shamesless. And the employee didn’t even admit that this was the Hotel’s fault: It was our fault not leaving the room enough time to let the cleaning service do their work and not leaving the room when they asked us to do it! According to this gentleman, who was no longer adopting a so nice attitude as he used to, the planning of the room service in the Noga Hotel prevails over their guests needs. Do not forget we were out from 10,30 a.m. to 15,30 p.m. and in the evening from 17 p.m. to 23 p.m., only 11 hours to get our rooms clean! Inmediately my wife asked the complaint book and the employee offered us a visit book to let your greetings and impressions. It was a joke. We insisted, but he only answered that we should speak with the boss in the morning. And we agreed, for it was clear that talking to him was wasting time. The following day, we packed our luggage and went down to the reception desk to pay our bill. The boss, previously informed about the incident by his employee, asked our version of the events. But we had another surprise when we noticed that the boss supported his staff´s behaviour. In his opinion, the guests must inform the hotel about their journey plan. So, if you choose the Noga Hotel, do not forget to ask permision before leaving the Hotel to return back to your room in the afternoon. It is necessary to give the reception previous notice of your planning. Otherwise, they cannot guarantee the services you are paying for. As you can understand, we left the Hotel having a very different opinion from the one we had only four days before. It is obvious that the Hotel management is not aware of the problem it has if they are not able to get the rooms arranged after lunch time. We had the feeling that, as long as our departure date was approaching, they sacrificed the quality of the service that they were offering us in the beginning. We consider important to warn you about the peculiarities of this Hotel: they expect you use the hotel only to sleep purposes. So you should consider it a “Bed and Breakfast”, not a real Hotel. We have been in many Hotels all over Europe but we had never been in a similar situation. The boss’ attitude annoyed us, as he did not recognize their deficiencies and their faults. Instead he gave us a speech on the power of clients over the Hotel and their defencelessness. This is a sign he is not open to change anything in his policy. In conclusion, the positive points the Hotel has cannot make of this a viable option for a long stay in Brussels. You have plenty of interesting choices in S. Cathérine, undoubtly one of the most convenient zones in Brussels.
