Owner description: This is not a museum in the traditional sense: the museum itself is actually the house that Victor Horta built for himself in the late 1890s, which truly exemplifies the Art Nouveau style that made Horta into one of the most acclaimed architects in Belgium.

Loved this Art Deco house captured in time. Fantastic detail. Bit of a queue, as fire regs only let 45 people in at a time. But worth it. Very unusual.

Stunning exterriors and interriors. A great introduction to the best in art nouveau in Bruxelles, to understand organic decoration lborn from the technological progress in construction. Charm of decadence is on....

This is open six afternoons a week I would get there at one pm before opening. The admission is reasonable. It is four euros for those 60 or over and 18 thru 25. You must check coats and bags. The decor is all curved, carved wood with. Glass canopy roof and lovely garden.

The Horta Museum is formed out of the house and workshop he lived in and used. The whole interior and exterior is magnificently restored and presented in a wonderful way to the visitor.

Don't be put off by the queue outside the closed front door. The concierge will let you in, in turn, when there is enough room in he house for another visitor. Folk are coming and going all the time so the wait can be spent people watching.

An excellent find for us.

The house is beautifully maintained and it was interesting to see the environment Vitor Horta lived in and to see some of his original designing. I do think the entry fee is overpriced and one of the areas upstairs is a little green room where the plants are in extremely poor condition. You are not allowed to take any photos at all.
