We have just stayed for four nights at Carmelites guest house. What a wonderful experience. I highly suggest any one going to Brussels stay at this wonderful place. The room is spacious clean and beautifully appointed. The most comfortable stay I have ever had anywhere in Europe. You are nestled up under the eaves and when it rains it is simply gorgeous. Pascal is a wonderful host. The highlight of our trip is the discussions we had with him. A funny engaging man who makes you feel totally at ease. The breakfast is very good also. I cannot recommend Carmelites more highly!!

Room Tip: There is only one room and this adds to the experience.

We stayed here two nights. The room was in a rustic style but clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable and "kingsize". The bathroom had a nice deep bath and a big mirror above the sink.
Breakfast was rolls, cheeses, croissants, yoghurt and fruit, more than enough.
The hosts were very informative and keen to assist. The guesthouse is literally 200m from the Manequin Pis, yet the street was quiet. We walked from gate du Midi which took about 25/20 mins.
We would use this place again, we loved it and our entire weekend.

Carmelites Guest house is wonderful as is Pascal the host. He greeted us when we arrived with all sorts of wonderful information, tips and noted on our maps locations & sites not to be missed. The bedroom and bathroom were wonderful, they were both large and airy, much bigger than we're used to anywhere else we've stayed. Carmelites is nearby everything you need to see and do. Pascal also drove us to the airport at 4am to catch our flight back to the US what a wonderful gesture. We highly recommend Carmelites to anyone (unless you can't live without a TV in your room). My husband and I recently stayed at the Carmelite Guest house whilst training it through Europe. Having reviewed the guest house on trip advisor early in the year decided to stay here for 2 nights. We had had a bad experience a couple of years earlier but this was quashed with the lovely hosts Pascal and Akemi.
The room was very spacious, clean and had a huge ensuite with all amenities provided including very soft towels. David was waiting for us on arrival and provided a local map and showed us various places of interest to visit. Breakfast was continental in style but you couldn't eat all that was provided. Free wi-fi was also a bonus with your own computer or tablet. The guest house was exactly as depicted and David provided very clear and concise directions for getting there by all modes of transport. Would highly recommend if visiting Brussels!

Room Tip: Only one huge room on the third floor so very private.

Stayed at Carmelites Guesthouse for 3 nights in November 2012.

Centrally located in historic Brussels, near the Mannekin Pis and Grand Place. Even though it's located in a busy area, the B&B itself is located in a quiet area. Carmelites Guesthouse used to be an old convent which has been renovated, offering an unique place to stay. Some of the brickwork and a stone angel is part of the original building.

There is only 1 room to rent out. It occupies the 3rd floor, so there are 2 flights of stairs to go up. The room is comfortable and clean, and has lots of natural light. The washroom has a bathtub with a handheld showerhead, which was a little awkward to use but manageable. We were there in the winter time, so the radiators kept the rooms warm. There is no TV in the room, but there's one in the living room on the main floor that you can use.

Pascal & Akemi are super friendly and knowledgeable. They were prompt in their emails and did their best in helping us with the planning process. Upon arrival, they offered us a drink and mapped out places to eat and sights to see. Akemi is also a tour guide so she offered lots of tips. They were around to offer suggestions, and sat to chat during breakfast.

My husband's birthday landed during our stay, and I had asked them about potential restaurants and where to purchase a cake, etc. I decided to take him out for dinner in the end. However, Akemi was so sweet and had actually made him a cake and surprised him (and me) with it. Breakfast was ample and filling. Akemi also found out that we love Japan (she is from Japan), and on our final day she made us a Japanese style breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed that special treat!

Pascal and Akemi made us feel welcome. It's the little touches that made our stay special in Brussels. We would love to stay here again when we're back in Brussels!

We enjoyed our 2 night stay in Carmelites B&B in May this year and would highly recommend it, much better than staying in a hotel. The guesthouse is centrally located, not far from the Mannekin Pis. You occupy the entire 3rd floor and is quiet, comfortable and clean. Pascale was very hospitable, he prepared our breakfast and gave us some useful advice on places to visit in Brussels. As the weather was rather wet on our departure we much appreciated Pascale driving us to the station in time to catch our train to Bruges.
