The day we would have investigated Hotel de Ville, there were two weddings in progress; one civil ceremony and one Muslim ceremony. Both were, of course, private affairs. So we inspected the amazing architecture of the exterior and then observed the music, dancing, and parading in the Grand Place following the ceremonies. The Belgians certainly have a retinue of unusual traditions regarding betrothal and marriage; it was quite entertaining!
