“Great experience for beer-lovers”
Reviewed 2 July 2014

We loved the tour of Cantillion Brewery! It's completely unlike anything you'd see in the U.S. My husband, a homebrewer, was both fascinated and disgusted by the "spontaneous fermentation." The English tour was self-guided, which made the experience quite nice.

Tip: It can be a bit difficult to find and is in a sketchy neighborhood. Look for the logo hanging above the door of what looks like a warehouse. We missed it the first time.

“Authentic Belgium, a real working brewery”
Reviewed 1 July 2014

A friendly tour and you can stay after to sample their beers, a few you'll be unlikely to find anywhere else. In the summer months it is too hot to brew so the tour is of an empty brewery but still worth it.
The tours are conducted in various languages, including English.

“Good Beer, Really Interesting Brewing”
Reviewed 18 June 2014

I would particularly recommend this to anybody interested in the brewing process because they present a more traditional and organic process of brewing which is very different from any other tour I have ever taken. If I brewed myself, it probably would have been quite inspiring.

Being a great fan of sours, I really enjoyed the beer, and my girlfriend who does not care for sours still found them drinkable.

Our experience was probably colored by being befriended by a young Australian couple out on walkabout and greatly enjoyed passing time with them. This is probably not an experience you can duplicate, but sometimes talking to strangers changes the whole game.

“Visited during both public brewing and on normal days”
Reviewed 7 June 2014

One of my favorite breweries in Belgium. Provide an excellent history of lambic brewing and of the brewery itself. I've visited this historic brewery during both a public brewing session and during normal business days. During public brew sessions, held once a year, I believe. At these public sessions, one is able to see first hand, lambic and gueuze being made. They also provide a guided tour of their facility, and two beers for around 7 euro, which is a steal (I think about an overpriced Guinness Storehouse self guided tour and one beer as a comparison). Tours are done in many different languages on a rotational basis throughout the day. On a normal business day, you are provided a guide book souvenir which takes you through their facility on a self guided pace. No brewing is taking place at these times. Again, you also get two beers for a cost of 7 euro. A must visit for beer lovers or anyone else looking to experience something culturally significant and unique to Brussels as the spontaneously fermented lambic, gueuze, kriek, etc. sour beers. They are truly like no other beers made anywhere else in the world.

“Wonderful Brewery”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

This brewery is a must see for anyone interested in Belgium beer. They brew beer in an old school way using wild airborne yeast giving their beer it's unique and much sought after flavor.
