Owner description: Dominating the Sablon Square in the center of Brussels, this church was transformed from a chapel into a major gothic church starting in 1436 through the beginning of the 16th century, and truly exemplifies the Brabantine gothic style of architecture.

“Very beautiful”
Reviewed 17 August 2014

both inside and outside. Very peaceful and good place to rest your feet and relax. Free entry in to the church. The sculptures inside the church were grand. It is a small church so not much walking needed.

“Gothic and Baroque”
Reviewed 11 August 2014

The exterior aspect is wonderful to view with its Gothic type architecture. Inside is equally impressive. On our day of visit preparations were underway for a celebratory ceremony; we surmised that it may be a wedding. White ribbons were on the end seats and candles n white lantern holders were placed along the aisle.

There are numerous attractive features. The many stained glass windows were radiant in the bright sunlight. The columns and arches rising to the fine ceiling are very dramatic.

The pulpit carvings are exquisite. Baroque is the style of a couple of chapels that we lingered to admire.

Under restauration in the inside right now, but still worth a visit, nice architecture and a bit of historical information at the entrance.
