Where everyone goes to meet and see most places of interest. Tour guides, restaurants down small side streets off the square, some bars in the square where you can sit outside and have a local beer. Blanch Bruges beer is recommended

Having stayed in a Hotel in the Place many times I got to know this area quite well although it has gone down somewhat in my estimation since the Leffe bar closed and the lovely restaurant (I can't remember it's name) where a 4 piece band use to play, closed.

Grand Place is always vibrant. It doesn't matter which season you go, day or time you go. The history, the beauty of the buildings…. enjoy it while you have a coffee, lunch, beer in one of the many restaurants, cafes around. In the winter time you have the chance to see laser shows.

Tourists and locals meet for a walk around this Place. It is an open "patio" surrounded by beautiful buildings, inviting restaurants and lace and chocolate shops. You'll also see artists displaying their work. You must have a beer and a cone of fries, both are Belgium's pride and are really good. Plenty of kinds to choose from! We tried the waffles as well. Yummy!
