I was in Van Godh hostel for 2 nights in ensuite room. Staff was nice, price ok, breakfast ok. location ok.
The only 2 flaws were : not really hot water and ash in our room. For the rest, it is a nice place!
You can't expect services like a real hotel! for example shampoo, shower gel etc! Don't forget this is an Hostel.

Middle-sized hostel with both dorms and singles, quite clean, with not-too-noisy guests. Fairly convenient location wrt both the underground and the rail to the airport. Staff quite friendly and helpful. Breakfast is nothing to write home about, but the dining space is quite ok. Very simple, basic room, lacking atmosphere but ok just for the night.

I stayed here for 3 nights in the beginning of December and I loved it. Super clean, friendly staff, and attracted interesting people. On the Saturday there was a small concert that even attracted locals. Clean, comfortable bedding and warm rooms. Dinners were pretty good, breakfast was very average (toast, cheese, jam, cereals, coffee/tea). No soap or shampoo in the bathrooms and it was a bit of a challenge to find a good spot to charge my phone. But overall great atmosphere. I would definitely recommend it to any solo travellers!

We stayed in the hostel Van Gogh for two nights while in Brussels and it was a very satisfying experience. We were traveling on a budget, so you can't expect that much for living in cheap lodging, but the Van Gogh exceeded our expectations. The breakfast was nice and the room with an ensuite bathroom was also very nice. It was basic, and I read other reviewers complaining about it, but to me that's fine. I'd definitely stay there again!

Room Tip: Rooms to the street side are quieter than thos looking out on the courtyard.

I stayed here in November and I had previously stayed in a hotel on avenue Louise which was so far away. I appreciated the location as it was walking dist from grand place anf the main centre. It's a hostel which had fairly priced beers anf fairly clean rooms!

Twenty euros per night in a dorm with 8 beds and two sockets in the whole room. I know Brussels is expensive, but I expect a bit of quality for the money I spend. From my room, you had to litterally go out in the cold to reach showers/toilets, not well planned.
Quite filling breakfast, and equipped kitchen if you want to cook. The disposition in two different buildings can be uncomfortable, in fact the one where the lobby/common room and kitchen are is far better.

I stayed here 3nights, with 3 friends in the mixed room for 4people.

It's a cheap hostel, in a good neighbourhood in Brussels. Not to far from the things you can visit.
The breakfast was ok, nothing special. The staff was friendly.

The room, shared bathroom & toilet were average clean. There was for ex. dust under the bed.
The wifi didn't work! We had a very bad connection in the room, but also in the lobby. (In the lobby is also too loud to work.)

Price-quality it was correct, but we really missed/needed the wifi!!
