Hostels are cheap acomodation and you must not expect any kind of luxury, but you can expect normal shower but in bruegel youth hostel the shower is bad in so many ways that is almost useless. You can not stay in hostel betwen 10am and 2pm becouse of only basic cleaning. You must stay out of hostel for 4 hours ( very annoying rule ;)) and hostel is still not realy clean. Hostel is closed betwen 2am and 7pm and you need night key to go to hostel which cost 20 euro deposit and scan of photo ID.One day a boss with long black hair start to screaming to receptionist in front of me this is extreamly unprofesional by my opinion and denied to talk about some issue with my friends from other room becouse he is busy. Wireless is not working for around 90% of time. Bar in the basement is cheap and you can smoke inside and is best think in entire hostel. good location

Room Tip: 2 bedroom rooms are slightly larger than four bedroom rooms

It was my first time staying in a youth hostel and I loved it! I found nothing bad about this place! For the price you get fantastic service where the staff go the extra mile for you! With a smile! You are near everything...and well it was just wonderful! I would go back there anytime and I would totally recommend it! Thank you to the staff for a wonderful stay! You guys were awesome! :)

The first thing you see when u get inside in the lobby is chairs that belongs to a dump yard, really [--] and insanely torn. This describes also most of the rest of the hotel, [--] and also dirty. Wifi is shut of between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. so stupid!!! Most of the staff is unfriendly and not helpful! There was one exception, one guy at the last day was actually friendly, was pretty surprised. No showers on all rooms, no toilet in the room, worst beds ever, the showers that existed works for 5 seconds and then you have to push the button again, really annoying. The location is quite central so that's like the only good thing...but it's also much more expensive than it should be. You get less than you are paying for...

The lights went out during the evening randomly for around 15 minutes. The WiFi was terrible everywhere except the canteen - even then it was pretty poor. Breakfast is what you'd expect for a free one - not great but at least it was something. The beds were okay, the room was fairly clean, the staff were helpful and the location was excellent.

This hostel is very well located in the heart of Brussels. The rooms are clean, the bar in the cellar is cute and the employees are friendly. The breakfast is simpel but sufficient and it is possible tot have dinner there.

So I saw there was the Chapelle train station nearby, but found out after booking that it's a semi-abandoned station that only offers one train per hour in each direction. With any baggage, Line 27 bus is the best bet (to/from Zuid/Midi station) to get here. I arrived from Luxembourg station on Line 27 (the other direction), but street traffic was terrible during the afternoon rush. On either direction, the bus' on-board stop alert system suffers from tall buildings blocking GPS signals resulting in unreliable notification. From this hostel, walking anywhere farther than to just catch a bus (no baggage) is not recommended at night.

Back to the property, after the 10-minute ride from EU Parliament that turned out to be 40 minutes, I had to wait another 40 minutes to be checked in--reception was closed during dinner! (I was hungry, but could only smell the cafeteria and wait. And when the staff returned, two of them came but only one worked the counter handling the queue (of now FOUR parties). Finally my turn, and unlike every other hostel I've stayed with, this one does not accept any CC without chip and PIN! (Even the next generation of US cards will only be chip and signature, not PIN.) Fortunately I had enough EUR to pay, and had to replenish later at an ATM in a more crowded neighborhood.

So precious daylight hours were lost to such inefficiencies. This hostel would've been close enough to see the Grand Place (the only place I ended up seeing), the boy statue and the girl statue, and plenty of chocolate shops.

Located a lovely five minute walk from a ghetto. The room we got had a shower but no toilet. Completely useless waste of space and money. You get kicked out between the hours of 10am and 2pm for 'cleaning' but in a place where you have to make your own beds and aren't making any mess, what the hell is there to clean for 4 hours!? To get in between the hours of 1am and 7am you have to get a special key and they take your passport details. They have little blankets instead of anything that could actually possibly keep you warm at night. DO NOT STAY IN THIS PLACE. THE ONLY GOOD THING IS THAT I COULD USE THEIR [HORRIBLY SLOW] WIFI TO WRITE THIS.

Room Tip: You will get a great room, if you choose a different hostel.
