“Trying to provide service as hotel.”
Reviewed 17 May 2014

This is a small BnB with 2 to 3 buildings, each buildings to provide 3 rooms for guest. And it should be operated by a restaurant downstairs.

I had a suite room at the top of the building. The bedroom is at the rooftop and the living room and washroom is located under the bedroom. The BnB provides amenities in washroom which some other BnB may not provide. There is a simple kitchen with sink and hotplate, some simple cooking utensile is available too. if you want to cook something simple, it is possible. I can feel the BnB is trying to provide the best service as they can and wanted to provide a service like a hotel.

The breakfast provides sufficient choice, hot bakery, 2 types of ham and cheese, corn flake, drinks and yogurt. Free drinks coupon is provided for each guest everyday, and you can enjoy 10% of discount if you have meal in its restaurant.

I like the service of this BnB.

Room Tip: There is kitchen provided but the website of the bnb seems never mention.

For sure, one cannot argue this is a relatively good value for money place. Decent size rooms, generous and friendly breakfast and clean enough. Now, too many things done "on the cheap" or broken and not fixed. Counted half a dozen in my room/bathroom.
So what could have been a very happy experience turned into a rather average one. A pity.

Another one of those reviews where I wanted to love something more than the few niggles allowed. First up, the location is great being 5 minutes from the Grand Place and between Anneesens and Bourse on the Pre Metro lines 3 and 4.

The side street that the B&B stands on is non-descript. The building is a staircase with bedrooms off straight in off the street. Common areas basic white walls bare narrow wood stairs, industrial metal banisters.

Rooms are in a similar aesthetic, stripped floors, white walls, bare wood doors, rustic wardrobe and side tables. Modern shower room. All ultra clean and appealing.

The tv had a good choice of channels and wifi was in room and excellent. The street was very quiet with just one small group of passing revellers from local bars.

So far so good. Somehow though it didn't quite work for me, maybe because I was in Brussels for meetings not leisure. The niggles were: heavy footfall on the bare boards above; sink with nowhere really to put toiletries (though I could have used the cupboard underneath which stored the hairdryer); heating that I had to turn down when I arrived but which seemed not to come on until after I was leaving c 7.30am (wasn't a huge problem even though it was a cold December morning); no kettle and cups though glasses and chocolate; beds that were just a bit too firm though obviously really good quality. Finally opposite the B&B is the entrance to a removals firm. About 7am 3 guys arrived waiting to be let in and spent 15 minutes talking and smoking under the bedroom window. This won't be a weekend problem but was an irritant on a weekday morning.

Reception was in the neighbouring Winebar and the young guy was very pleasant. We never quite got to having a conversation about check out as I knew I would be too early for breakfast and wasn't fussed about eating. This though meant that I didn't get any check out instructions and was left wondering what to do with keys that were needed to lock the front door, when the winebar was shut. Hopefully they were found in the mail box!

All in all I really wanted to love this place - it has so much going for it (price, aesthetic, location) but it just missed the mark for me.

Room Tip: I suspect further up is better noise wise

My husband and I stayed at La Petite Eclipse in August, this was our first stop after traveling from Australia. We really hit the jackpot! This B & B was absolutely wonderful in every way. The service is perfect, the owner Giuseppe was very helpful and entertaining without being over the top. The location is perfect with a short walk to the train station and Grande Place. You must go to La Petite Eclipse for absolute comfort.

Excellent B&B. Convenient for the city and metro. Giuseppe was welcoming and helpful and breakfast was delicious with access to tea and proper coffee throughout the day. Very comfy beds and quality towels. Would recommend ear plugs. Building has its own unique sounds but not a problem. Great value and would visit again.

We walked to and from here from the train stations with backpacks. The room and bed was comfortable and the linen were all clean and lovely. The room was in close distance to all major sights of Brussels. The breakfast was cereals, crossaints, bread and condiments. Use of the coffee and tea is available. Excellent wifi.

Great management was helpful and welcoming, giving us wonderful recommendations on places to go and things to see in Brussels. The room was clean and modern with a comfortable amount of space. Breakfast was super delicious - warm croissants, eggs, and deli meats. Well-located within walking distance to the market square, there are some good options for eating that are less touristy located near La Petite Eclipse. Good value for money, happy to have stayed here!!
