“Even if you don't like the artist's stuff (and some people won't)”
Reviewed 25 April 2014

you should go and have a look. For one thing it's right in the middle of the European parliament district which was striking in itself. And then the gallery (mostly a large single room) contains some of the most impressive paintings I've seen, if only from a size point of view. As the other reviews have said, it's free, it's quite stunning and it's well worth a visit, even if the wikipedia page for the place has some less complimentary things to say.
Personally I think the guy could clearly paint and sculpt pretty well and would suggest you go and make your own mind up... Opening hours are (according to their website) Tuesdays - Fridays: 10:00-12:00 and 13:00-17:00

“A small museum with monumental paintings”
Reviewed 20 November 2013

This is a really small museum, there is only 1 room to visit. The former studio from painter and sculptor Antoine Wiertz is now converted to a museum. He was famous for his monuntal paintings which now cover the walls. I must say I didn’t really like his art very much. But judge for yourself. The entrance is free, so just pop in when you are in the neighborhood

“Wow!”
Reviewed 26 September 2013

This is a free museum not far from the EU institutions.

I hadn't heard much about this place so it was a bit of a shock!!!

Not sure I liked the art a whole lot, but was stunned by the setting as it was so unexpected. (don't want to say too much).

Worth a visit if you're in the area.

“CLOSED (when it should be open).”
Reviewed 16 March 2013 via mobile

This museum is a rarity in Brussels: it is free, the problem with being so is that it's able to ignore its own opening hours and close when it pleases.

Advice: telephone in advance to check, or if your interests extend to dinosaurs and minerals then chance it because the natural history museum is next door and so shan't be an entirely wasted journey.
