“Construction at 7 AM! ”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 July 2014 via mobile

We were awskened on our first morning by constitution taking place at 7 AM. We heard sanding, scraping, banging and power tools from the room directly above us. We complained to the reception and were told they would leave a note for the workers not to begin until after 9. The next morning the sounds began at 7:30. I called twice but the construction noise did not stop. There is a sign in the elevator warning about the construction, but 7 AM does not seem like a reasonable hour to start works in a hotel, where guests may want to sleep in, considering they are on vacation. The service has not been helpful. I received no apology or solution for the noise, but instead have been brushed off, even after complaining 3 times. Additionally, the wifi connection is very slow.

Just had 3 nights at this hotel. It was really good. 80 euros for 3 nights b and b, we'll worth it. The easiest tram station is the Parc stop. 5 minute walk in a straight line from there.

The location is great. Quiet place. It is on a main road but we weren't affected by the noise at all. It is about 10 minute stroll to Grand Place square, the walk takes you past a lovely church and you are in the town.

The breakfast was plentiful with a large selection of food. Hot, continental, toast, bread, Danishes, cereal, fruit. Breakfast was never busy whatever time we went down and is from 6.30-11am!

The room was clean. The bed was very comfy and plenty of pillows. Hairdryer in the bathroom. The shower was very powerful and hot-lovely. No free toiletries-just incase you normally rely on those.

The door is locked at night-I think from about 11 or 12 pm, but there is a bell and you are buzzed in straight away.

All in all a fabulous hotel which I would happily return to or recommend to friends.

Room Tip: We were on the side not directly on the main road so maybe that is why it was quieter

Half way down the Rue Royale, between the Palace and Botanique and a 10 min walk to the Grand Place. Transport is good, you are just 5 minutes from the metro and tram stop close-by.

There's not much atmosphere (despite the bar) but at least there's a bar and, in the room, a mini bar (prices not cheap but you can at least store things in it).

Room is clean, plenty of power sockets, decent TV and choice of channels. Bathroom is fine although the flower designs on the tiles is very dated.

Wifi was free but poor (at least on the 7th floor) and kept dropping even for simple browsing let alone uploading/downloading powerpoint files. Not the best if its a business trip where you need to do some additional work in the evenings.

That being said, the price offer for the room was cheap and a good special offer so if you are paying c. 60 euros a night then you have to compare that to paying more at something like the brand new Motel One about 100 metres further up towards the Park/Palace - good free wifi, good cheap breakfast, really nice design ...but it costs a touch more - factor it in and make your choice.

Parking is available at the Hotel, it is not a big garage and at euros 25 is a touch high -you can leave it in the street overnight as it's reasonably safe and if not then you can find parking 5 mins walk away.

I would possibly stay here again - there was nothing really wrong other than not for my business needs but if you want a clean hotel, close to shopping, and within 10 minutes walk to the main central sites then it is good.

No big frills here, but the price was right and it was a decent location. Just be careful walking the neighborhood, since it's the redlight district and fairly seedy. The breakfast was 15 euros, but it was good, just thought overpriced for what you got. Otherwise, a nice, comfortable place for a nice.

Near Parc de Bruxelles and 10minutes walk from Grand Place, Stayed in two different rooms, first one was small, but only 55€/night, so no complaints here. The bed clothes and floor didn't seem to be 100% clean. The second room I stayed in was a lot bigger and was much more clean (at 84€/night.
The location is excellent.
Breakfast is OK.

This hotel was felt very tired and drab. The room was poky and the shower was rubbish (shower head kept falling off and the bottom of the bath was curved making it hard to stand in a relaxed way). The location is a little removed from the centre of Brussels (about a 10 minute walk). The staff were friendly enough though and it was clean. Over all I wasn't a fan of Brussels which seemed pretty dull (nice bars though).
