This is the only hotel located on the Grande Place, so choose dates wisely. Around Christmas the square is absolutely filled with people, so noise can be an issue. In February it was not. Other reviews refer to hot rooms - we just opened the window and turned off the heat! Remember, this is an old European-style hotel, which is not your cookie-cutter Holiday Inn kind of place, which just adds to it's charms. Continental breakfast is served in the restaurant on the main floor overlooking the square, and since this is a popular spot with the locals you should make reservations for dinner. We arrived from the U.S. at about 8:30am, and we were welcomed for breakfast until our room was ready. The hotel is located about 10 min walk from the Central Station, and there are lots of little shops nearby, or you can walk about 6 blocks to a full grocery store. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Great views overlooking the square, but go for a room at the back if noise would be an issue.

Situated right on the Grande Place the view from the bedroom windows is stunning. Despite the very central location, parking is easy in the underground car park around the corner. This is where the plus's end. The rooms, while a decent size, are very spartan and worn, badly in need of renovation, and probably the noisiest room I've ever stayed in, and very hot. Not sure what the purpose of the mini-bar is since it was completely empty. Front desk service is indifferent - you're just another tourist.
Given the pros and cons of location vs quality I'd say the rooms are priced about right.

Room Tip: If you can sleep through noise, it would be a terrible shame not to book a front-facing room with th...

We stayed one night in this hotel for new year's eve. The view from the third floor is absolutely breathtaking. It is the only hotel on the grand place. The owner is very nice and friendly. We obtained free wifi. Buffet breakfast was served until 10h30 in the restaurant with view on the grand place. Public parking is very close by. Bars, restaurants and shops are just around the corner. The rooms are not high standing and they are quite noisy due to the fact that they are directly above the grand place and the hotel is thus very central but it is a small price to pay for a room with such a superb view. We really enjoyed our stay. Room was 135 euros.

This tiny hotel is old and worn, only 16 rooms right on the Grand Place in the heart of old Brussels. It is also comfortable, and my room at the back had a decent bathroom. It was quiet and restful with lots of TV options for recovery time. For 70 Euros a night I had a double room with bathroom in high season, and was within metres of attractions, hundreds of cafes and great food. I was very happy with this little hotel.

Room Tip: Views from the front rooms, peace at the back.

My daughter and I stayed here one night and only loved the view. View of the square is beautiful, but it's too loud. We didn't sleep at all. The hotel is in disparate need of maintanence and repair. Our room was spacious, but there was mold throughout the bathroom and the tile and carpet was dirty and dated. The stairwell between floors also had mold on the walls and ceiling. Breakfast was almost nonexistent. On offer was one kind of cold cut, one kind of cheese, one kind of juice, cereal, milk, and yogurt. Coffee was really good though. No one checked on us at breakfast or even made sure we were supposed to be there. If you love to party, this is the place for you. If you like clean and mold free rooms that support a restful sleep, book a different hotel.

Dear Mr. Mister, thank you for your remarks. Our breakfast is more than adequate with quality products; fresh croissant's and sweet cake's and fresh bread's, we prepare every morning on time. Is not true to said is not good breakfast. Of course we are small hotel without star and our comfort is approximately 2 or 3 stars. But sometime some people wait one hotel with very low price with the comfort of 5 stars palace; Please next time make one objective remarks, and I am ready to accept all remarks when this is correct. many thanks for your visit in our hotel & I am sorry if you NOT enjoy very well in our establishment. Is very important for all the hotels to have the remarks directly when sometime is wrong from us. in our Job, and not to make a mistake with our guest's. I am agree to said the hotel is old, we know that & we prepared the new investment for renovation. said (manager)

My daughter and I stayed at this hotel at the recommendation of a co-worker. This is the only hotel located on the Grand Place which is a fabulous location. The hotel has a total of 14 rooms and only 7 of those rooms face the square. Get one of these seven rooms facing the square and be transported back into time -- enjoy the view from your room -- watching all of the activity in the square and looking at the other beautiful buildings . (as noted by others the rooms are a little "tired" looking as far as furniture & rugs but that didn't bother us - the view totally made up for anything the room was lacking- plus the rooms were very large with very high ceilings & had a good size bathroom & refrigerator)
The staff was wonderful -- the manager, Sayed , was very helpful & welcoming offering us many restaurant suggestions -- Stephanie & Thiery were wonderful as well. The breakfast was great & included -- croissants, breads, yogurts, cereal, coffee, tea, orange juice . The price was reasonable - (if they ever do renovate I am sure the prices will be sky high as this hotel is in a prime location )- So if you can get past the old furniture , stay here and enjoy this friendly hotel with an incredible view!

Room Tip: Definitely pay the extra cost to get a room facing the Grand Place. The square can be a bit noisy at...

This hotel was old but everything is old here anyway. Great view and was so glad to pay extra to get the view room. I could sit in my room and look down at this most beautiful square after dark and when nobody is there. It was nice to look at the square when nobody is awake in early morning, too. I traveled by myself but I never got board just sitting by the window and looking outside. Breakfast was included with a room. Coffee, juice, cereal, muffins, toast, ham, cheese,etc...not so good but not too bad. Might not be the best rooms but I will stay here again.
