Early check in allowed and a room upgrade which is good. Not to difficult to find and handy for town and public transport which is another plus. Cheap and cheerful but certainly in need of some refurbishment. Friendly staff and free toiletries. Not the quietest of hotels due to the club at the end of the road. Adds a bit of entertaiment to the evenings experience when its club throwing out time and the riot kicks in. If you are fussy about beds and soft furnishings etc. then I would look elsewhere. You pay for what you get.

We stayed at Le Grand Colombier Hotel for one night while in Brussels. We weren't expecting much from the pictures/previous reviews so weren't really in for a big surprise upon arrival. We had mainly chosen this location as it is within walking distance to the Central Train Station & from the tourist attractions/shops/etc.
The location isn't the easiest to find, however. It's situated in an alleyway off of a side street with minimal signage. Luckily we had google maps to direct us.. otherwise we may have been around in circles a few times over.
Room seemed clean enough..no major eyesores or issues here. One major complaint was the hot water.. or lack thereof. There was only lukewarm water from the shower tap with very low pressure... again luckily we only had to stay one night and could take proper showers at our next destination!
Upon leaving, we also noticed that our bathroom window was clearly visible to the hallway! The glass is luckily frosted, however if someone really wanted to creep around badly enough, they could definitely have a visual of whoever happened to be showering at that time! Very odd setup thats for sure!
Not the worst location, but again only ideal for a one-night stay with minimal time spent in the room!

We had to leave the room in the middle of the night after seeing it.They took the money before letting us in. I had an asthma crisis after staying in for less than 5 minutes and almost had to go to the hospital. Room looked like a murder scene with the curtains covered in blood. Bathroom looked like it survived Katrina, the mold culture was the most impressive I've ever seen. Very cold and we didn't want to awaken the family of bugs stuck in the radiator. Filthy from floor to ceiling. DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT BOOKING! Stay in the rain, it's less bad. Do not stay there unless you want to train for Fear Factor!!!

Myself and my fiancé stayed here while doing a European tour and this was the worst hotel we ever stayed in. We stayed in hostels that were better than this.
We were put in a hotel they call the Aberdeen that is part of this hotel room 28 got bitten between us 15 times big bites too and not mosquito bites. There was this blanket on the bed I'm sure is never washed. He floors felt scummy under our feet like they were never swept or mopped. The laminate flooring was coming away from itself. The walls were filthy. There was a cubby hole behind our bed that was just weird (see pics) never seen anything like it. Mid week it's a scary place to go in and out of at night because it's down a badly lit lane way in a really quiet area. The shower was toxic, the shower head was broken and the tiles were filthy. I reckon since the shower was built (80s) it has not been cleaned. I felt dirty after my shower. We did complain but never heard anything from the manager and the guy in the desk did not care. He just wanted us gone so he could go back on his mobile phone. I would not put a dog in this hotel. I have more scary photos but I can only upload 10.

I have been there with a friend. It's a small hotel located near from the train station and perfect for a weekend.

The first impression is not going to be positive, because the outside appearance of the building is old and you will think you picked the wrong place, but inside it will be different. The front desk man ( I can't remember the name) was very attentive and polite.

Cheap, excellent location and quite. I recommend this place...
