“Very nice room, good location, but loud”
Reviewed 31 July 2013

Hotel Orts was great. It's in a great location that's almost perfectly located in the centre of the action. There are restaurants, shopping, and the Grand Place all within a five-minute walk. The hotel room itself was very nice and well-furnished. The price was great too.

The only downside is that it's located right above a bar, and there are a lot of bars in the area. So... it was quite loud all night. The bars don't close until people are ready to go home, which is usually around 4:00 AM or 5:00 AM.

It was still a great hotel though; one that we'd definitely recommend.

We have been 2 nights in this great hotel. It isn't very fancy, but you don't need to go to the Marriott on the other side of the street cause it has it all: it is located in a lovely fin de siècle building, rooms with balcony, a 4 minutes walk to the Vossenplein (the grand square with all the big buildings from the 16th/17th century), an Art Deco neighborhood, great staff, quiet and clean rooms. We had dinner there every evening too: great lambchops! So it's evident for us where to stay next time in Brussels. One thing, the guy who is serving breakfast is a special one. We decided to call him Igor.

Room Tip: We had a room on the second floor, so we had a great view from your balcony at the streetlife.

We stayed here for one night with another couple in May.
The hotel is very close to a local metro station and the fare was only €2 per person from the Eurostar station. It is only a 5 min walk into the Grand square area so very central.
All staff were extremely polite and helpful and our rooms were clean, comfortable and functional. Although we did not have our evening meal there we noticed the steaks that were being served to others and I would not hesitate to try them in the future. Breakfast was fine – tasty and filling.
Our travelling companions had a minor issue with their room but this was quickly resolved by the manager who also gave us a great deal of local information.
I would not hesitate to use Hotel Orts again.

We stayed at this hotel in Brussels at the end of May. All the staff that we encountered were friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and nicely decorated. Breakfast was included in the price which was a bonus for a city hotel in Brussels, although we did have to ask for anything cooked like eggs, as they were not on show in the breakfast area. The location of this hotel is perfect for walking to the main square and all its little side streets.
A word of warning - if you are coming here by Metro, pick-pockets are rife. First hand experience - as you are getting onto the metro, have all your possessions in front of you -thieves work as quick as a flash whilst you are getting on and off the train. If I was to visit Brussels again, I would definitely stay at the Hotel Orts again.

Thanks to Peter and Luigi for a pleasant long weekend in Brussels. My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Orts for three nights. It is centrally located about 5 minutes from the Grand Place and 10 minutes from the Central railway station. There are many restaurants and bars nearby, including many Asian restaurants. The cost is quite reasonable. The rooms are comfortable and well-equipped, including a small refrigerator. Our bathroom had a full-sized bathtub, something my wife appreciated after a long day of walking. It was also quite nice to have a balcony and to look out at the activities in the street (especially on Saturday during the wild and popular Gay Pride celebrations). The breakfast is great with breads, rolls and croissants coming out fresh from the oven. There is a buffet and Luigi is happy to make eggs to order. The only thing to keep in mind is that it is in the center of a big city with lots of night-life at your doorstep. For some the noise may be a concern.

Room Tip: I have stayed here twice and prefer a room on a higher floor, 3rd or 4th.

Hotel Orts is really a wonderful place finished with care and refinement. It was my first ever solo tour and I was badly missing my home. But, the moment I arrived at this place, it was a lovely feeling. Property is huge, but still well maintained. Rooms are very pretty and had all the luxurious things that I needed. Washroom attached to the room looked clean and functional. I had a great shower. Al the guys here are very friendly, they really made me feel at home. Food was awesome and every meal included a great variety. It was all beyond my expectations.
