“Fantastic trip and sublime hotel”
Reviewed 7 December 2013 via mobile

Back from a brilliant 2/3 days in Brussels staying at The Dominican.

First impressions did not disappoint, reception check us in promptly and kindly before the 3pm slot as stated.

Room was spotless and very comfortable for 2 adults and a cot. All the facilities within the room were above expectations and unfortunately we did not make use if the breakfast room service which sounded perfect for a lazy morning.

The breakfast buffet was full of choice and excellent quality. I apologise once again to the waiter who had to tidy up my disaster with the coffee machine!

Check out was simple and our bags were kept secure while we had a final browse around the markets.

In summary a fantastic couple of days and would highly recommend The Dominican to all looking for a luxury hotel near to the Grand Place.

This was my six annual trip to The Dominican which coincides with a conference I attend every year. Again, location, ambiance and service can't be beat. And they have one of the top 3 hotel showers I've ever used. While I've typically given the hotel 5 stars, the rooms are starting to show a slight bit of wear and tear. Worse, the WiFi (while complimentary) remains really awful and the gym is still reminiscent of something you'd seen in 1970s East Germany.

Other than that, another solid stay. I'll be back in 2014!

Room Tip: ask for a room facing the courtyard

Stayed one night while exploring Brussels. Atmosphere was very calm and relaxing, staff exceptionally pleasant, WiFi was reliable and bed comfortable. Maybe it was a little too comfortable as I slept through my alarm and the first wake-up call, nearly missing my ride to the airport!

Would have loved to have stayed a second night just to stay in, do some work and maybe enjoy the sauna. Next time ....

Room Tip: Get a room with a bath - tubs are roomy and the chanting sounds make it great for relaxing.

just got thrown out of the bar due to a private function, that we had no warning of. No room in adjacent lounge so was forced to sit it a draughty entrance lobby to finish our drinks and game of cards. Our room was left open after being cleaned. No sound proofing between rooms. Breakfast for 4 cost €108 for a buffet breakfast with awful so called English Breakfast Tea.

Dear Liz,
Really sorry to hear about your disenchantment!
The lounge bar almost never is privatized; and when this happens, we usually announce.
I sincerely apologize for any misunderstanding.
Season's greetings,
Ellen de Boer.

I stayed in the Dominican for two nights while on a business trip to Brussels, and I loved every bit of it. The executive double room was very nicely furnished, very large and came with a nice bathroom. Located on the 3rd floor, there was no noise whatsoever, despite the central location of the building just a few minutes' walk away from the Cathedral. The large bed had a most comfortable feel to it, with a heavy (what definitely felt like a) goosedown blanket and an endless row of fluffy pillows. The amenities of a Nespresso coffee machine, decent speed internet access, free minibar and free payTV completed the first class experience, which, by all standards, is not that easily found in this town. Downstairs, one will find a comfy and inviting bar / restaurant area with tasty food and a decent selection of drinks. In short: all good, absolutely nothing to frown about.

Room Tip: Get the executive double, it is well worth it.

Stayed with a family with primary school children for 2 nights during May day break. This hotel was a part of the deal together with Eurostar train tickets, that's why we could afford it - too expensive for us otherwise.

The Dominican is located very close to the center but somehow in a very quite street. The first stop for a city tour red buses is 5 min away.

The whole hotel has been renovated at highest standard, really chic bedrooms and bathrooms with modern furniture, interesting accessories, bathrooms are a state of the art. We had 2 standard rooms (for me and daughter and husband and son), both were wonderful.

Breakfast is too expensive, my opinion, so we opted to have it out of the hotel - much cheaper and much more value for money...

Stuff members were so friendly, helpful and polite. They gave us the map of Brussels and advised what to do and what to see first.

We also tried the gym and sauna - both small but very nice.

Overall, fantastic modern hotel with wonderful location, a dream for a city break traveler or a business traveler.

Stayed for two nights in standard room. Staff friendly and helpful, were able to recommend restaurants and booking if needed. Gave us a map at check in and pointed out the main sights.

Rooms are modern and clean with a very nice bathroom. Did not eat at the hotel but spent some time in the lobby bar which had great service and a nice relaxed vibe.

Hotel is just a few minutes walk from the station and you can easily reach the sights. Situated just behind the theatre it is nice and quiet away from the main streets.

Would recommend to family and friends if looking for a hotel in Brussels.
