“Not worthy of a Michelin star”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 October 2012

While this is by no means a bad restaurant, it is definitely not worthy of a Michelin star and the prices that go with it.
The service is very hurried and almost aggresive (we were asked 3 times in the first 10 minutes of sitting down if we had chosen the wine and throughout the evening, I felt under pressure to finish eating faster).
The food has been good, but definitely not up to standard: the starter was a tasty lobster tempura (and lots of it), but also had some pata-negra/goat cheese rolls that simply didn't fit; the main course was excellent; the cheese was a brie/truffle cake, very imaginative, but rather than 3 pieces of the same cheese, 3 different flavours would have been better; the dessert was the big disappointment, completely lacking in taste or structure (a white chocolate mousse covered in chocolatey flakes and in a milk-chocolate cold "soup").

Not recommended, especially at the current prices. 6/10.

The food is good, the decor & service is really old skool, prices are really high...this place needs a revamp!

“Great 3-course menu”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 September 2012

We really liked this dinner, and the service was superb. Many extras thrown in (we were glad we did not order the 5 course menu!) and each course was fabulous. We asked the concierge at our hotel the best restaurant in Brussels that we could get a reservation that night (a Saturday) and he suggested Bruneau. It was very prim, however, and though we liked the food we prefer an ambiance that is a bit more relaxed.

“Great dining experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 September 2012

This is a delightful restaurant that offers superb service and wonderful food, at a price that is high but not outrageous. We chose it because it was open on a Sunday evening. That was our good fortune! We did struggle to find it, having taken the Metro to the nearest stop and then walked. A background in orienteering might have helped! Although it is formal restaurant, it is not stuffy. We ate outside in the walled garden courtyard where bird song interrupted our meal and the city seemed very remote.

“Excellent and Open in August”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 August 2012

It proved very difficult to find a top class restaurant open in August - most are closed for their annual vacation. Fortunately this one was open and proved to be worthy of its Michelin star wth excellent food, wine and service. Only downsides are the price (but this is Brussels) and the location outside the city centre and requiring a taxi from the hotels.

On the hotest evening of the year some airco would have added to the enjoyment, but at least there is a small terrace with the sound of running water to at least give an illusion of cooling!
