I took my husband here for his bday and we had a lovely time: the service is very nice, not pushy and polite (a rarity in this city that i love). The food was very good, though i would really recommend you go for the meat options: i ordered fish for a change and it was good but not special (taste overpowered by the gravy). My husband's filet was excellent. Dessert was also very good. I will go again!

This is a very nice restaurant vintage furnished.
Good quality food, especially meat.
The service made good suggestion on combination of entree and main dish with the wine.
It is expensive. One of the nicest restaurant in Brussels though.

Thank Franchinii

Went there for my birthday. We had the chateaubriand which comes at a little over 70 euro for two persons. That is not cheap. On the other hand, the amount is huge and would certainly be enough for three normal portions. The meat was excellent. One minus is that they don't serve the gravy with the meat, only sauces (mustard sauce, which is excellent, and béarnaise). Dessert was good. Wine was priced reasonably. Staff is very friendly and makes you feel at home (they even put a birthday candle on my dessert, how attentive!!). The decor is lovely.

We had a meal for four to celebrate a significant birthday. It's an interesting place: a series of little rooms starting with a former butchers shop and we got a good welcome. After that, the service was rather slow and not particularly friendly (I was quizzed as to why I had ordered two bottles of house wine when there were many fine (and expensive) wines available). The bill for four people, three courses and two bottles of house wine, came to €250 for a meal that was good but not outstanding.

The Canne en Ville is a lovely French cuisine restaurant with excellent food and wine and a wonderful atmosphere. The prices are quite high but in line with the high quality. The reception is very friendly even though the English language competence of the staff is slightly limited. The Crémant de Loire which was recommended as an apéritif was not very impressive. As starters we had "le tartare de bar de ligne et de thon rouge" and "petits gris aux cèpes" (snails) were great. The beef fillet (32€) which we both had as a main course was splendid and tender. The red wine (Château Brondelles Graves, 33€) matched perfectly. Reservations are highly recommended.
