“Very good and very kinf people”
Reviewed 10 March 2013

I highly recommend it for a break. It is tasty and the atmosphere is very kind. The neighborhood is worth coming too (don't miss the 2nd hand library shop and "Les petits riens" a few steps from there. )

“Good Pizzas”
Reviewed 30 November 2012

I highly recommend Mamma Roma. The the truffels & potato pizza is my favorite.
You pick your selection of slices and they are warm it up for you.

“Gourmet pizza by the slice - and nonstop between lunch and dinner”
Reviewed 4 November 2012

This place remains delicious, now apparently with multiple locations around the city. The concept is simple: sheet pizzas with different toppings which you buy by weight - show the staff about how much you want, they cut it (with scissors!), weigh it, then either reheat for dining in (there are a few high tables with stools) or boxed to take home.
It's mainly the pizza you come here for - there are a few other items available (antipasto, maybe a salad or a dessert or two) and limited drinks menu.
Great with kids who can't wait until 7pm for most restaurants to open - they stay open non-stop from lunch until closing time at night.

“The best "pizza al taglio" outside of Italy!”
Reviewed 21 September 2012

We are regulars at "Mamma Roma", going there for lunch almost every Sunday after buying the groceries at the market in Place Jourdan (Etterbeek). We are totally addicted to it from the first time. The selection of toppings is very varied and the pizzas are baked continuously. There is an interesting "Lunch menu" until 2 PM: for only 7.50 euros you get two big slices of pizza and a drink. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere relaxed. Very popular among Italians!
There are 4 different Mamma Roma restaurants in Brussels at the moment.

“Mamma mia! Quite a treat!”
Reviewed 23 August 2012

Far, far away from the tourist traps of the Grand-Place and Manekin Pis there lies the local favorite 'Place du Chatelain'. Excellent for it's farmer's market on Wednesdays it is also the hippest spot in Ixelles (where we were staying) with a wide variety of bars and restaurants that serve everything from Flemish, Thai, Japanese, Indian and French cuisines. Mamma Roma is right at the corner of the square, and serves Roman Style pizzas with a hearty twist. We had heard of the place from tripadvisor and blogs and though we aren't huge fans of pizza, decided to find out for ourselves after a drink at the adjacent Red Monkey. Mamma Roma's is a small little place - in between a diner and an express fast food outlet. having said that, the place is well-lit, clean and child-friendly. The pizzas were absolutely divine. They serve full pizzas, by weight and even by the slice. They are freshly prepared in front of you and look just as awesome as they taste. They were light with loads of flavour and the prices were very good. We polished off our plates like true pizza connoisseurs and enjoyed every morsel of it. A true Brussels gem. Will definitely be back.
