“Familiar atmosphere”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 April 2014

Suggested by a peruvian friend, I decided to pay visit to this chilean led restaurant in the well known area of Saint Gilles. It is almost compulsory to book it in advance since it offers only aabout ten tables for four people disposed in two small rooms. The menu offers a few choices of south american dishes, from mexican, chilean, peruvian tradition, but the quality of food, cooking and presentation is on average. It is expensive if we take into account this. The kitchen is also directly connected to the hall and you smell all sort of preparations. Personel is nice and indulgent, only positive note in a dinner finally disappointing.

“chile sin carne...”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 September 2013

the food is somewhat basic and some (guacamole) almost not eatable. Meat was correct though. Chilean food is not the most sophisticated but needs to be well prepared with quality ingredients and you fail to find that at araucana. Menu is limited in choice with few chilean dishes but mexican ones guacamole - almost not eatable -, chili con carne etc.. where is the chilean DNA in the kitchen ? the scene is a journey back to earlys 1970 with press clippings and allende's pictures on the wall with singer / guitars on saturdays. the owner is nice and welcoming and contributes to a joyful atmosphere. ... i also wonder about the outstanding single review comments about this restaurant. if you are looking for a latino restaurant in brussels, this is not your address, as they do not serve typical latino food or tex mex, would go if you want to enjoy diner with friends in 70's friendly atmosphere and have the possibility to taste some limited chilean specialities, more for the exotic choice than taste though. why not, but once is enough.

“Very Good Food & Excellent Ambiance”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 August 2013

Although it is small, the food served is great. I ate at Aracuana Chez Adela on a Saturday evening /night (18.00-23.00). I was planning to spend an hour in Chez Adela and keep wandering in the city, but I found myself dancing with the owner lady and another customer. By the help of wine and a great guitarist I had great time in a friendly environment. Frankly, in a city where there is nothing much to see, this restaurant is the primary reason to come back to Brussels.

“very friendly, original food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 April 2013

A very nice South-American restaurant with a very friendly and flexible lady (owner)! The additional guitar music gives the whole place a warm atmosphere. This restaurant deserves a fully booked night every day of the week! We think the outside and the bilboard of the restaurant is not very attractive and certainly does not correspond with the warm and cosy atmosphere...

“Small and cosy”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 January 2013

The place is quite small, the ventilation is not ideal and you bring back home the kitchen smell.
Apart from this the food is nice and the atmosphere on Friday evening is nice and friendly.
