I did a tea ceremony on a sunday last summer and visited the garden.
The ceremony was interesting and well presented. I learned a lot from it and enjoyed myself at the same time.
The garden is well kept and a lovely to walk in.
I'll be back in spring when the blossoms bloom.

Easely with the busses to go to the Garden (not for free). It is a small, but nice garden with waterfall and Koi fish. In summer a lot of shade, in autum wunderfull colors and sometimes exhibitions of flowers and plants by an artist.

We visited on 30 October, just two days before the garden closed for the winter. The autumn colours were great (much appreciated by the many serious-looking photographers who were there) but many other aspects of the garden would be better seen in the Spring and Summer and the cafe was not open when we were there.

Finding it was easy on the free bus service (City bus H3 towards Godsheide and several other out-of-town buses including 20a, 36, 45); the bus driver helpfully pointed out the correct stop (Rijksadministratief Centrum) and it is well signposted.

The garden were lovely to wander around to take photographs. I would recommend going there if you are in Hasselt.

The gardens can be visited by foot from the city centre. It is about a 10 minutes walk. The entrance is in the park. The gardens are magnificent. Even in this fall, the colours were wonderful. Only following the paths which lead you trough the gardens, to the water fall, the koi and the Japanese teahouse, where a tea ceremony can be joined. This is a place to recommend.
