After 8 hours of driving with 2 small children, we didn’t any fuss when arrived at the hotel. However the problem started when we cannot find the entrance to the hotel (through a very bad signage cobbler street entrance). Next was the difficulty of finding the parking plaza and direction given by reception was not very clear. Finally we find the parking and it cost £14.00 per day.
The reception cannot find our room and she straight away assumed we booked at Holiday Inn Express without any further investigation.
The room smelled of smoke although it is a non-smoking hotel, we didn't request to change as the kids were tired. No cot in the room although noted when make the booking. When requested from reception, she gave us a feeling of inconvenience for her. Not helpful at all.
Overall, the hotel is very nice but cater more for business people not family orientated. Hasselt is a very nice town with a very nice bakery/cafe just 5 minute walk from hotel. We had our breakfast there. The service could be better orientated toward family consider it was school holiday.More
